‼️ Comcast's Xfinity routers can snitch on you to the police through a new function called 'WiFi Motion', which creates a timestamped log of movement inside your home. Comcast's own support docs say the data can be disclosed under subpoena, court order or search warrant, with no requirement to notify you.
The Gateway detects motion via radio-signal disruption between it and up to 5 connected devices.

Surveillance is creeping into everyday life. Even in Berlin, police are pushing for broader camera powers, and new surveillance laws are being rushed through.
So I built 𝐤𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐢 (dot com): a walk/bike route planner that avoids cameras, fully offline on your device!

The EU has blocked a chat control skeptics talk on YouTube.
But here’s the thing, the content is in Finnish, and Finnish law allows for this exact thing.
So the EU is currently illegally blocking free press in Finland.
YouTube has just taken down the political discussion clip about the EU's Chat Control, and the video is no longer viewable in the EU.
This has been confirmed by several parties. The video is still available outside the EU.
@puheenaihefi podcast is a Finnish current affairs program with 60k subscribers. In this episode, Peter Sund, CEO of the Finnish Information Security Cluster (Kyberala ry) offered pointed criticism of the EU's new Chat Control directive, which was enacted under questionable circumstances.
Because the media is in Finnish, it is highly likely the censorship request came from a Finnish government official or a related party.
This makes it troublesome.
Because the Finnish constitution §12 guarantees freedom of expression.
Preventing political publications is a criminal offence: Abuse of Official Position, punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to two years.

You know you're living in a healthy democracy when everyone has to pay for a VPN to stop the state from spying on them.
The Keycard Shell is the world's first and only 100% open source 100% air gapped hardware wallet.
It comes with a $4 battery that can be replaced when it runs out of power. Saving you the heartache you will inevitably find with Trezor and Ledger.

Most people still holding $eth are likely ready to go down with the ship; at least I am.
Ethereum is a bastion of freedom and self-sovereignty in an increasingly controlled world.
No amount of number go down could get me to sell. Even with most of my net worth in eth, I would hold it to literal zero.
I would rather take a chance on eth and be wrong than give up hope on the most inspiring invention of my generation.
Come zero or valhalla, I'll be here.
Believe in somΞthing.
its pointless for crypto projects to precomply by weakening their privacy, because the surveillance state is just interested in protecting their capacity to surveil even if it goes far beyond the written rules. they will always want more than you compromised

my crypto investment thesis is rather simple:
Ethereum is the only smart contract platform that takes the blockchain trilemma seriously, aiming for security, decentralization, and scalability while upholding the cypherpunk ethos of neutrality and self sovereignty.
It was slacking on the scalability aspect for a while but that is now the primary focus without sacrificing security or decentralization. The current incremental steps have made transactions affordable now. The zk-rollup-ification of L1 in the roadmap will make it ultra scalable, too.
Dumbchains are not interesting as they have no on chain economies, and vc corposlop smart chains are cynical extraction machines.
Ethereum alone points to a brighter future that takes the masses some kind of power or agency back from the ever growing corpo fascist trend the world is moving to. When ETH does well, the entire industry does well, and vice versa.
No other blockchain ecosystem has people willing to fight for it like Ethereum, evidenced by the multitudes of devs and projects who choose to work on it without needing to be lured in by VCs and fat cheques.
These very qualities that make it appealing to cypherpunks also make it appealing to institutions as time after time, they prefer to work on open and neutral systems rather than closed/proprietary or biased ones.
Sure we all have nitpicks about the EF, myself included, but to their credit, they have cultivated an ecosystem that people care about beyond just pumping bags. It has a soul in an often soulless industry.
If ETH fails, then crypto has failed and the world will be a materially worse place. Call me naive or dumb, but I’d rather fight for something worthy of fighting for than succumb to a nihilistic stance focused solely on self-enrichment.
In short, it is the only chain/ecosystem in the space that isn’t garbage.
