LucasFilm and Disney both made the same mistake not having a time jump and one-upping the danger with their sequels. You need concrete, sustained wins as payoff. If it feels like the world is always in cataclysmic peril we stop caring about the heroes saving the day.
As a creative you're allowed to change the source material and sometimes it does work but man is it a bitch move every time when you complain about it. You're changing an existing property. You signed up to adapt something people already love, don't bitch about expectations.
Zach Cregger says he was frustrated with the reaction to his Resident Evil movie because people spent too much time arguing about how different it was from the games.
“I was frustrated at the conversation around Resident Evil and how much of the conversation really didn’t have anything to do with the movie.”
People kept focusing on missing characters, changes to the lore and why the film wasn’t closer to the original games.
Cregger wanted to capture what it feels like to play Resident Evil rather than just copy the games’ story and characters.
He’s still proud of the movie, though, and says he made exactly the film he wanted.
It's kinda funny how the world pretends America were the only ones to wipe out indigenous people as if that isn't a prerequisite for literally every country.
Also, are we forgetting France had their own American colonies too? What do you think they did to the natives there?
And this was AFTER a year long delay. Halo Infinite was supposed to be the launch title. It was baked in to their marketing and production. 343 shat the bed, got delayed, and still released buggy and bare bones. Infinite was the final straw. 343 should've been killed after that.

Accidentally an incredible microcosm of the last 50/60 years.
>Women in sports can wear whatever they want
>Vast majority choose to wear the most revealing outfits they can
>Most of them can handle the obvious result, but some can't
>Everyone else has to bend for those who can't
The tug of war between libertine & puritanical factions of modern feminism is always fun to watch. The one thing they can agree on is demonizing male sexuality so we get rules like this instead of trying to make women wear something more modest (or letting it be).
Every generation goes through this. In the 2010s millennial culture was all about how we'll never get old, never stop putting in effort, never lose sex drive. Now they're aging and the jokes reflect the realities of getting older & long-term relationships.
This doesn't hit as hard when you elected a literal rapist. I don't think you have much of a leg to stand on as the party of decorum when Trump has broken just about very rule and norm imaginable.
If you ever find yourself defending a rapist and saying we should be okay with rapes you should take a long step back and reflect on how you got to be so pro rape that you'd feel comfortable saying this publicly.
I know The British and French have longstanding beef but is there some secret conflict between England and Greece that I'm not privy to? It's really starting to seem like the Greek did something to royally piss Nolan off and he's never forgiven them for it.
Audiences just want an assurance of baseline quality. If a director (Nolan), studio (Pixar), or IP (HP, Batman, Spider-Man, Bond) gives them that it'll be rewarded. But nothing is bulletproof. Sony were geniuses for killing TASM after #2 made 710m. It saved the Spider-Man IP.
