Carrie is also another example of Hollywood refusing to let a female character be faulty. The novel story of Carrie was about bullying and yes you felt sorry for her but in the end she chose to murder everyone in her path. She just didn’t kill the bullies but even the gym teacher who was on her side. Carrie gave into the evil impulse and used her power to devastate an entire town. That was the horror of the plot. Carrie became the monster her psychopath mom kept telling her she was.
This was not a story about girl power or finding your inner warrior. It is a tragedy.

So Carrie meets another girl with abilities that Charles Xavier’s herself into Carrie’s mind then takes over and initiates the prom massacre. Meanwhile the mom of said telepath is hunting girls like her daughter and Carrie and at the same time a group of superpower girls is sent by a secretive agency to recruit Carrie. SPOILER….Carrie doesn’t die but leaves with other telepath girl.
At this point why not make an original story with original characters and set it in the King universe? Why completely change the dynamic and story of Carrie?

It's crazy how, nowadays, if you don't beat a game on the release week, you are stuck with a watered down version, because the general audience can't handle any sort of friction.

My genuine reasoning for this as someone who hates AI: Square Enix (as a company) uses Gen AI and is absolutely given shit for it, repeatedly. However, the development studios' track records with Gen AI differ to the point where lumping them together does nothing productive.
There's no evidence (so far) that XIV contains, or ever will knowingly contain, gen AI art. Additionally the community surrounding XIV is DEEPLY against gen AI art and are more than willing to call it out. The devs are aware they'd lose a lot of players if it was implemented
