August 6 is Farmworker Appreciation Day, a day created to raise awareness of the issues farmworkers face every year. J. Paul Leonard Library recognizes the vital contributions of farmworkers to our economy and their fight for better working conditions.

On National Disability Independence Day, we honor Dr. Paul Longmore (1946-2010), a noted professor and leading historian in disability activism & publishing. In 1996 he cofounded SF State's Institute on Disability. His papers are archived @sfstatelibrary
