This old ad was found while going through some old newspapers from my in laws. For fun I looked at the average daily rate for electricity today in North Dakota and it is 34% less than what it used to cost (when adjusted for inflation). $2.25 per day versus $3.43 back then. Another fun fact is that a residential customers used about the same amount of electricity in 1969 as they do today - but for a fraction of the things we use electricity for today.

Watching the Canada tariffs unfold. Canada putting on an export tax of electricity sourced in Canada and exported to the US is one thing but threatening to physically cut off electricity from Canada to the US is vastly more problematic - both for reliability and how electricity actually flows over the North American grid.

While I am only an aspiring level 9 energy wizard, based on commentary I must have watched a different Tesla Investor Day than others. I watched a very good analysis of what it will take to transform the energy industry to a sustainable footing and how Tesla will lead the way. Others appear to have only seen a blank screen.

A great article today on battery manufacturing in the US in the @WSJ. My only criticism is that they seem to have forgotten @Tesla exists when they write things like, "American electric car makers traditionally haven't assembled batteries themselves."
