Just finished the @bunjavascript video from @fireship_dev and am blown away
Here are 10 highlights of Bun 1.0:
1. Combine commonJS & ES Modules in the same file
2. TypeScript support out of the box with zero configuration
3. Supports JSX & hot reloading out of the box (no need for Nodemon for server dev)
4. Compatible with existing Node.js packages / NPM
5. Fast, native APIs for things like reading / writing to the filesystem
6. 5x faster than ESBuild in hello world benchmark
7. Simple to set up HTTP server natively, also @elysiaJS which claims to be 18x faster than express ⚡️
8. Native environment variable support
9. Built-in SQLite database
10. Bun package manager up to 25x faster than NPM

We saw some interest in path aliases from a few community tools and things lately on social media so we made a little blog post to explain how they can be done in a less tool specific manner for JS/TS! Hope this helps those who are looking to learn.

How to avoid negative feedback 101:
Don't launch free products.
You will attract users that are not your target audience
↓
They will try it just because it's free, not because they need it
↓
They won't understand the value
↓
You get negative feedback
If you plan to launch free products, be prepared and don't take it personally 🥷

30 marketing lessons I learned:
1) People decide to buy with emotions and justify the purchase with logic
2) Competing on the price is a dead-end because there will always be someone cheaper
3) Adding one more user acquisition channel doesn't solve a Conversion problem
4) You should have an upsell plan for people with money
5) Your audience will ditch the status-quo solution if the transition is simple
6) Adding more social proof is the easiest way to improve the Conversion Rate of your landing page
7) Nobody has ever said "I wish we started collecting emails later"
8) SEO is only great after you validate your product idea
9) Most users would rather go for more value than a lower price
10) Organic marketing funnels are not linear; sometimes, it will take a day to convert, and sometimes a month
11) You are not selling the product; you are selling the transformation that your product delivers
12) Most users don't hate pop-ups as much as you do
13) Don't think about the A/B test if you don't have at least 300 unique daily visitors
14) Spending 1 hour on marketing strategy can save you from 6 months of pointless work
15) You don't grow by getting more users; you grow by getting more "activated" users
16) Increasing the price often increases the Conversion Rate too
17) People follow people on social media
18) Clickbait hooks are okay if you can overdeliver with your content
19) Writing like an actual human being is the ultimate copywriting tip
20) It's better to send 20 personalized cold emails than 200 generic ones
21) Side-project marketing is underrated for Indie Entrepreneurs
22) Profit is the single marketing metric that matters
23) Finding an irritating problem is more important than coming up with a genius product idea
24) Going viral won't solve your marketing problems
25) Your audience doesn't want to feel stupid
26) Writing a useful blog article is not enough in 2023
27) Send the number of marketing emails you would personally like to get
28) Charging one-time payments is an unfair advantage
29) Don't expect people to recommend your product to their friends and family
30) Do marketing that feels scary
