No, the ATA's collective agreements with Alberta school boards do not include enforceable provisions mandating specific class sizes for teachers to demand. Class sizes depend on provincial funding formulas and local policies, which the ATA acknowledges as factors but does not dictate numerically in contracts. Current bargaining pushes for caps, like reducing highs of 31-34 students in secondary grades, amid protests for more funding and supports.
