one close listen to the songs about travis on ttpd and the entire argument that he is not a good muse falls apart. i think it’s just that max martin and shellback are not good collaborators for her tay anymore. her songwriting has evolved in a different direction to their forte
i think they don’t bring out the elements of her writing that have clearly already been explored by jack and aaron. if anything, that is a clear example of just how much of an impact collaborators have. they deserve more credit than they get
