Halloween artificial cobweb material:
It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them.
And it's not only birds.
Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs.
The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries.
When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death.
Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue.
Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated.
Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now.
Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.

Goat #dairy or any other dairy coming from animals is unnecessary animal slavery 👺
No human needs to consume #milk products from other mammals ..it is unnecessary unjustifiable and therefore reprehensible.
There are plenty of healthy alternatives.

This behavior must be criminalized.
"Witnessing such a young elephant lose its life to trophy hunting is a painful reminder of why we cannot allow this to continue.Together, let's demand stricter regulations and an immediate ban on trophy hunting. Our wildlife deserves better. #BanTrophyHuntingNow"

‼️$500 NEEDED TO $500 GOAL FOR DAMIEN‼️
Damien came into the shelter as a stray. This friendly boy has tons of energy and is a strong puller on the leash. He looks like he’s been cared for, making it even harder to understand why no one has come for him. 😔
He was found curled up at a park, just trying to stay warm. 🥺💔
Now Damien needs someone to give him a chance. Please share his story and help him find the rescue, foster, or forever family he deserves before it’s too late.
📍 Russell County Phenix City Alabama Shelter
🙏 Please don't let Damien be forgotten. Sharing could save his life! ❤️🐾

Damien Dojiggy Campaign Link:
go.dojiggy.io/7ed6a3
We prefer that you use Dojiggy to prevent being scammed and to reduce the workload of the volunteer who notifies pledgers when dogs are saved. It's easy after you go through it once.
Here are tips for successfully using Dojiggy:
1. PLEDGE by selecting "PER DOG" instead of "fixed amount." "PER DOG" will be a pledfe thst will show up on your PayPal or credit card as $0.01 until the campaign is closed.
If you select "FIXED AMOUT," your pledge will be sent to Shelter and Rescue Partners immediately, and held until the dog is saved, if saved. If a dog is returned to his owner, adopted from the shelter, or sadly killed at the shelter, WE WILL APPLY YOUR DONATION TO ANOTHER DOG. WE WILL NOT REFUND IT, because we are charged double fees to first receive and then refund you your full donation. If you don't want this to happen, please PLEDGE with "PER DOG" option instead of choosing "FIXED AMOUNT." Cancelling pledges is free.
2. TIPPING DOES NOT GO TO THE RESCUE: If you choose to tip, that is fine, but just know that it goes to Dojiggy, not the rescue. Adding extra to cover payment option fees is always appreciated.
3. Pledges won't be charged until a rescue saves the dog(s). You will receive an email with a freedom photo, name of the rescue, and a message from Shelter and Rescue Partners.
Please help us to get Damien fully funded, so he can take the next steps necessary to get his a forever home. 💙

A two-hour flight, mud like quicksand and a trapped mum and baby. This is elephant conservation in action: emergency response for nature’s giants.
When friends far up in Samburu called us for help, we knew we had to act. We have unique expertise in this kind of rescue: last year alone, our Aerial Unit helped extract 17 elephants from similar predicaments.
Our pilot loaded one of our fixed-wing aircraft with our custom elephant straps and flew north. This was the scene that greeted him: an adult and calf stuck fast in drying mud.
Together with personnel from Ol Malo, Loisaba Conservancy and the Kenya Wildlife Service, we worked the straps around the elephants. First came the calf, who was easier to haul out, then the adult, who proved a much greater challenge. Mission complete, both elephants slowly got their bearings and walked off.
It’s the height of the dry season, and times are difficult across the country. When Kenya’s elephants need us, wherever they may be, we will answer the call. Your donations make it possible: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/d…

Please remember:
The plastic Halloween decorations you're putting out for this one day will be sitting in a landfill for centuries, killing starving wildlife, and washing out into the sea where they will end up choking, terrifying and killing vulnerable marine animals.
Please, teach your children to be kind.
They'll remember that lesson far longer than any decoration you buy.
