It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

BREAKING: In a stunning moment, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy just went on TV and made clear that Donald Trump is abandoning Ukraine. Just weeks after Don Jr's wedding paid for by a Russian oligarch, this happens. The corruption is astounding.

Sanctions relief will continue. I think the diesel deal and the move regarding the Lindsey Graham Act are not the end of it. Unfortunately. It’s unfortunate because we all had great respect for Lindsey. He devoted his life to America. We had an excellent relationship with him. And shortly before the tragedy, Lindsey was in Ukraine. He always supported us very strongly and pushed for as much assistance to Ukraine as possible. It’s difficult without him, I’ll be honest. I want to thank both Democrats and Republicans who supported his bill. That was a major victory: this truly bipartisan support. And now, the decision to undo all of this, to block all of it, seems wrong to me. And it definitely helps only the Russians. It only fuels their satisfaction and their desire to keep killing people. This certainly does not stop the war. From answers to journalists’ questions. (1/3)

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Well-known Ukrainian military aerial reconnaissance specialist Oleksandr "Serg Marco" Karpiuk writes on Facebook: "...Starlink is a civilian communications system. And SpaceX is responsible for its civilian use. Standard Starlink terminals currently have a default speed limit of 22 m/s. To enable flight at speeds above 22 m/s, Ukraine signed contracts for Starshield, which is overseen by the Pentagon. This is already a military system, with Starlink terminals that offer greater functionality, although the accounts are considerably more expensive. And it was the Pentagon that did two things in a single day: restricted intelligence sharing and changed the parameters of Starshield accounts. This was a decision by the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth. Clearly on Trump's orders...." Maybe this is the key to understanding what exactly happened.

Inflation is up again. Not because of a pandemic. Not because of a natural disaster. Because of Trump’s war, tariffs, and corporate tax breaks. It really is this simple: Republicans took over, and then drove up the cost of living in America.
BREAKING: Inflation climbed to a 4-month high in September as the Iran war continued to drive up gasoline prices ahead of key midterm elections. Prices rose 3.7% in September compared to a year earlier. Read more: abcnews.link/Le5jZ0N

BREAKING: GLOVES OFF! President Zelenskyy RIPS into Trump's monstrous diesel deal with Putin as a "betrayal" and warns that he is not on "the right side of history." And he was just getting warmed up... "It appears that President Trump, to quote a phrase that we would use over here, has thrown you under the bus," Piers Morgan said to the Ukrainian President during an interview. "He's done this diesel deal with Vladimir Putin, having just announced renewed sanctions, which people find inexplicable. And now you have a situation where President Trump announced an energy ceasefire, and within hours Vladimir Putin launches an absolute bombardment of Ukraine, aimed directly at your energy." "Do you feel betrayed by what has been happening?" Morgan asked. "Really, yes. Really, between us," said Zelenskyy. "But it's a little bit more complicated than just my emotions or my feelings. Our country has to survive." Trump recently blindsided Ukraine, our European allies, and the American people who oppose Russia's brutal invasion by announcing a "deal" to let Putin flood the global markets with millions of barrels of diesel. He has tried to spin it as a win, but it's nothing more than cowardly capitulation, a desperate attempt to wrestle down out-of-control gas prices ahead of the midterm elections. Those gas prices, ironically and tragically enough, are a direct result of his disastrous, pointless Iran War. Trump created this problem, then stabbed an ally in the back to "fix" it. Now, the Kremlin will get a massive influx of new cash to help fund their war machine and slaughter more innocent Ukrainian men, women, and children. "When you found out that President Trump had done this deal with Putin, twenty-one days after new sanctions, what was your immediate response to that?" asked Morgan. "It's a pity that we are losing a strong partner," Zelenskyy said bluntly. "So this is my opinion." "You think you're losing America?" asked Morgan. "Yeah. But not because of us. We can't be weak, otherwise we can't survive," said Zelenskyy. "We are not selling our country. Look, guys, it's not about business for us. It's just our life. And this is our country, it's our body. So our home, our children. And this is very important for us." "That's why it's painful when President Trump chooses one side, not our side," he continued. "But we are okay that he's in the middle. But if you're in the middle, you have to stay in the middle. Not on the wrong side. I think his advisors are wrong. I don't know who is pushing him not to the right side. This is not the right side of history." Notice how masterfully Zelenskyy phrased his attack. He condemned Trump's actions as a betrayal, shaming him, but then gave the egomaniacal American President a way out by suggesting that his advisors are to blame and that he can still reverse course. The reality, of course, is that this "deal" is fully Trump's responsibility because he's the one sitting behind the Resolute Desk. This betrayal is a result of his incompetence, his self-interested desire to lower gas prices at any cost, and the fact that he is a creature pathologically incapable of loyalty. History will judge him accordingly. Please ❤️ and share if you think that history will vilify Trump and Putin!

Just so you understand the scale of betrayal: first, our "partners" didn't warn Ukraine about the incoming ballistic missiles, so the air raid alert wasn't activated before impact, robbing people of their chance to survive. Then, Starlink was restricted to stop working at speeds above 100 mph. This renders useless, first and foremost, our interceptor drones. It doesn't limit our ability to attack inside Russia, it limits our ability to stop another apartment building or school full of civilians from being hit. Wow, just wow.

This morning, the federal government turned the full force of the Department of Homeland Security against a sitting member of Congress for the offense of disagreeing with the White House. The path to citizenship should not be weaponized against anyone, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, a naturalized American who swore an oath to this country — the same one that I took. The promise of citizenship should not be contingent on someone agreeing with the federal government.
I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.
