Angel Reese has wrapped up her third WNBA season, and there’s plenty to look forward to heading into Year 4.
In her first season with Atlanta, Reese broke numerous records and helped the Dream reach the WNBA Finals for the first time in 13 years.
Her first Finals appearance ended in a tough loss, but even some of the greatest players in league history have been there. A’ja Wilson, Elena Delle Donne and Sylvia Fowles were all swept in their Finals debuts. Candace Parker had to wait nine seasons just to reach her first Finals, while Tamika Catchings made her first appearance in Year 8 and, like Reese, experienced the heartbreak of losing a series after holding a (2-1) lead.
There were also some interesting developments in Reese’s game this season.
She made 22 three-pointers between the regular season and playoffs, more than three times as many as she made during her first two seasons in Chicago combined. It'll be interesting to see how much more comfortable she becomes shooting from outside in Year 4.
Her shot-blocking was another area that stood out. Reese increased her blocks per game across Atlanta’s 12 postseason games, and that’s something worth watching to see if it carries over into next season.
We also got a better look at just how valuable Reese’s scoring was to Atlanta. The Dream went (15-2) when she scored at least 20 points, compared to (10-11) when she scored fewer than 15. That carried over into the postseason, where Atlanta went (4-0) when Reese scored 20 or more points but lost all four games in which she failed to reach double figures.
Now, with another year of WNBA experience, a trip to the Finals under her belt and another offseason ahead to sharpen her skills, the double-double machine is setting herself up for what could be an even bigger Year 4. 🪄

You don't need 20/20 vision to see that Olivia Miles is a historically great rookie. The second overall pick has been destroying defenses with splendid passes and an eye for dramatic, clutch heroics. The rookie sensation stars on SLAM 263.
