How to select a good problem to work on:
The best career advice for young people is to just focus relentlessly on 3 things: 1. Get skilled. Technical skills, writing skills, people-orchestration skills, everything. 2. Get involved contributing to a mission you're aligned with. It doesn't have to be pure bliss and your contribution doesn't have to match your top strengths exactly. But at the end of the day you have to feel some pride in what you did or what you learned. If you can find something like that while becoming skilled in a number of different ways then you'll find ways to increasingly wrap your skill profile around it (and you'll find/develop strengths in your skill profile that you never expected). 3. Pick up momentum. If you do (1) and (2) right then you've got direction and potential and all that's left is to sprint forwards and achieve it. The more momentum you pick up, the better you get, the more real value you produce, the more opportunities you create, the more you get noticed, the more value you capture into your own life, the more effort you want to put in... you create a virtuous cycle with so much momentum behind it that it becomes an unstoppable virtuous cyclone.

Your inbox doesn’t need another summarizer. A good Email Agent can turn incoming mail into a working queue of decisions: › Triage new mail and surface what actually needs attention › Draft replies in your voice for review › Turn emails into tasks and actions › Track threads you’re still waiting on › Roll everything important into a daily digest And this is where it gets personal: › VIP contacts › Bills and receipts › Customer or vendor threads › Work vs. personal mail › Attachment handling › Different approval rules for different types of messages The blueprint below gives you a starting structure for what it handles, the routines it can run, what it needs and remembers, the tools and skills behind it, your rules, automations, and the outputs it should produce. Build the structure once. Then shape the agent around how you actually use email.

Where does money invested into the AI buildout actually go? For every $100 flowing into the supply chain: - $50 to chips - $20 to power - $15 to networking - $15 to cooling, buildings, and land More charts in State of Markets II: a16z.news/p/state-of-markets…
Introducing our State of Markets pt 2, along with a companion podcast where we unpack the data and discuss what comes next. Tech is the everything cycle. Supply: putting the buildout in context, just passed railroads as % of GDP. The wisdom of Elon is real: the factory (or the datacenter!) is the product. Demand: diffusion is so, so early. Median AI vendor spending in the top 1% of companies is 8x that of the top 10%. Only about 30% of S&P 500 companies report a quantified AI impact, which means there’s a substantial opportunity in connecting models to a company's data and workflows. Diffusion into companies is one of the main themes of the next 5 years. We’re entering the agent work period. Only a few million users today, but applicable to billions of internet users with massive surplus created. META/GOOG monetize US users at $200+ per year today. Agent opportunity is much higher. Mega-trends the next 5 years: Consumer agents, Robotics, Autonomy, AI x bio, Personal health, Diffusion into enterprise, New era of American Dynamism. Much more in our SoM report here - a16z.news/p/state-of-markets… @a16z @sarahdingwang @aleximm @santiago__rdz

Singapore's govt dating app runs on a Nobel Prize-winning game theory algorithm 👏 FirstDate uses Gale-Shapley, the 1962 stable marriage algorithm that won the 2012 Economics Nobel and still runs hospital residency matches and kidney exchanges today. how it works: 1 | your preferences and dealbreakers build a ranked priority list 2 | proposers offer to their top pick. receivers hold their best offer and reject the rest. rejected proposers move down their list. rinse and repeat until locked 3 | the result is mathematically stable: no two people exist who would both prefer each other over their assigned matches. "the app never showed us each other" becomes impossible by design the UX: • one match per cycle, zero infinite scroll • 72-hour decision window • contact info revealed only on mutual yes • Singpass-verified, so everyone is exactly who they claim (told my husband I'm annoyed I can't test it. his response: most people sneak onto dating apps, and here you are openly filing a product research request 🤣 ) commercial apps need you to keep swiping but this app is designed to get you off the platform. Singapore built the first dating app whose success metric is deleting its own users 💀 (fun game theory note: Gale-Shapley yields proposer-optimal outcomes - meaning proposers get their best possible stable match, receivers their worst 👀) public servants aged 21-35 only for now. interesting to see if state-sponsored game theory beats the free market (or rather, all the tinders and hinges out there) 🍿
I CALLED IT. It's happening y'all. The singapore gov has launched a pilot programme for a gov-run dating service. Looks like the pilot is currently restricted to just government workers for now.

Adults with ADHD release melatonin about 90 minutes later than everyone else. In kids it's 45 minutes. Up to 80% report insomnia or disturbed sleep. Two Canadian doctors just published a paper arguing psychiatry has been staring at the wrong clock. The mechanism is simple and brutal. Your brain flips a melatonin switch roughly two hours before your natural bedtime, and in a big subgroup of people with ADHD that switch flips late every single night. Bedtime arrives before the body is chemically ready, school and work start on everyone else's schedule anyway, and the next day's brain runs on a sleep deficit that looks exactly like inattention. What convinced me this runs deeper than "night owl" is the tissue evidence. People with ADHD show blunted morning cortisol, smaller pineal glands, and dampened clock genes (BMAL1 and PER2) in cells far outside the brain. The delay is written into the body itself. And the clock moves. Bright light in the morning plus low-dose melatonin advanced the sleep signal in both children and adults with ADHD, and emerging data ties that phase shift to symptom improvement. Sleep programs alone improved symptoms in kids. So the treatment pathway the authors propose costs almost nothing. A fixed wake time, sunlight within the first hour of waking, dim screens at night, and melatonin only for confirmed delays. Stimulants still work and nobody in the paper argues otherwise. But if a chunk of what we diagnose as an attention disorder is a body running 90 minutes behind the sun, the cheapest intervention in medicine has been sitting outside the window the whole time.
We published a paper reconceptualizing ADHD as a circadian rhythm disorder.

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝟭𝟬 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗧𝗘𝗦 You don't need to be a developer to start building useful AI agents. You need the right structure. Here’s a simple 6-step Claude Code workflow: 01 — 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗗𝗘 Use it through: • Terminal • Desktop app • VS Code Choose the setup that fits your workflow. 02 — 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧 Create a `CLAUDE.md` file with your role, preferences, rules, voice and defaults. This gives Claude context every time you start a session. 03 — 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗬 Turn corrections and feedback into reusable `.md` files. Your agent can learn from previous decisions instead of repeating the same mistakes. 04 — 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦 Turn repeated workflows into reusable skills. Connect tools like Notion, Gmail or Google Drive and trigger the workflow with a simple command. 05 — 𝗕𝗨𝗜𝗟𝗗 𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 Give each agent a specific role and task. You can separate: → Strategy → Execution → Quality control Add a quality gate so poor outputs don't move forward. 06 — 𝗥𝗨𝗡 𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗢𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗧 Use scheduled routines to run agents or skills automatically. Daily, weekly or whenever your workflow requires it. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗜𝗚 𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗔: Don't just ask AI to complete individual tasks. Build a system where: 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 → 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝘆 → 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 → 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 → 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 work together. Save this as a roadmap for building your first AI agent. Follow @AamirAnsar94694 for more AI, automation, tools & tech insights. #AI #AIAgents #ClaudeCode #AIautomation #AITools #Automation #Tech

A Google Cloud engineer just showed how to build a complete app with Claude from scratch. 26 minutes, live on stage, doing what most teams take weeks to ship. Worth more than any $500 vibe-coding course. No team, no setup, just Claude and a goal. The people learning what Claude can actually do are shipping what everyone else outsources to a team.

Since people on social media are saying it is not difficult to create wealth of ₹50 crore, ₹100 crore, or even ₹1,000 crore, I thought of sharing a post I wrote a few months ago. Aspire high. Understand the reality too. Here is the post: In general, even among high income earners, let me tell you when someone reach a wealth of say ₹3 crores. Age in late forties to early fifties. Designated as Vertical Head or Senior Director or similar titles. CTC anywhere between ₹60 lakhs to ₹1 crore per annum. Own a 3 BHK flat. Would have repaid home loan. Say 2 children in high school or college. A decent car mostly under company (employer) lease. Mutual funds, shares, money in bank and Provident Fund - roughly around ₹3 crores. In exceptional cases, close to ₹5 crores. This is general standard among high income earners in our country. So don't fall for finfluencers trap of creating wealth of ₹50 or ₹100 crores is easy. Except for extremely lucky or corrupt, making every single crore is difficult.

The CIA released a "Reading Improvement Course" that had been hidden from the public since 1955. I read all 117 pages so you don't have to. Here are the 10 most interesting quotes from it: 1) "Good reading is not necessarily rapid reading. The rate must be adjusted to comprehension requirements." 2) "To read well you must concentrate. No activity except perhaps writing or thinking makes more rigorous demands upon the whole mind than reading." 3) "Suggestions to develop your ability to concentrate: Be interested. There is no spur to concentration like honest interest." 4) "Some readers have found certain devices useful in keeping their minds on the subject. One device is to jot down key thoughts as one reads. These words act as a fence to confine our wandering thoughts. The practice of underlining key ideas and making notes at the end of each section serves the same purpose. 5) "Concentration is a habit and must be formed. Habits require, at first, a conscious effort of the will. Force yourself to let nothing come between your mind and the matter on the page before you." 6) "When our attention wanders, words slip by us and leave no trace of meaning. Under such conditions we cannot expect a harvest of logical thought. We go through the motions of study or reading, but do not get results. We waste time that could be used far more pleasantly and profitably." 7) "Drawing conclusions is the final step of the reading process and should be based on sound judgment of the author's qualifications, facts presented, methods of presentation, validity of arguments, or style of presentation." 8) There are 3 types of reading: Intensive reading: when the purpose is to master new subject material, the skills required are translation, integration, analysis and evaluation. The best procedure is (a) rapid preliminary survey of the material, (b) formulation of questions prior to the reading, (c) careful reading, and (d) review and recitation of important points. Extensive reading: with the purpose of acquiring a broader frame of reference and widening the range of knowledge. The skills required are integration, analysis, and evaluation. The best procedure is rapid and thorough reading of the material. The extensive reading rate should be as fast as the thinking process permits. Scanning: for (a) the main idea, (b) specific information and (c) a preview of the material. To read effectively the reader must first review the material and the specific purpose for the reading. 9) The SQAR3 Reading Strategy: "Scan: Quickly scan the introductory paragraph, subtitles, key sentences, key words, summary. Decide on the author's plan. Question: Turn the title or key sentences into questions. Anticipate: Before reading, try to answer these questions mentally. Read: Read the entire selection and look for the author's ideas to answer your questions. Recite: Close the book or magazine. Tell yourself in your own words what you have learned. Write notes on material that must be remembered. Review: Later, to make your knowledge stick, review the gist of the article or chapter, again in your own words." 10) How to read with purpose: -"Have definite questions which you wish answered through reading a given selection. -While reading, make a mental note of the main points in the paragraph or article. -From time to time stop to think over the material just read in preceding section. -Notice the illustrations and examples that are used. -Develop the habit of criticizing what you read." My favorite quote from the report: "Reading is a pleasure, a source of information, and the basis for most decisions that are made today. It deserves the liveliest interest and the best techniques we can master."
