Monero's RandomX v2 is released! 🎉

6 years ago today, RandomX went live on Monero mainnet. Still no ASICs in sight...
Anyone with a modern laptop can still mine real private money. Hashrate followed CPU evolution and remained decentralized.
Quietly one of the most successful experiments in cryptocurrency history.

I'm happy to announce that the first version of the Monero Garden is live at monero.garden 🌱
I'll keep updating it based on feedback and tinkering with the UI (with the help of @kycnot), please leave comments on GitHub or Matrix.
This is a well resource that I can definitely recommend to folks that are looking about a nice introduction to modern cryptography!!
There shouldn't be too math
Changes on EVERY page, new chapter "Cryptocurrency cryptography" inc. PoW, algebraic hashing & Poseidon, multi-signatures, threshold signatures, zero-knowledge proofs, and more.
NEW: section about Ed25519; the new Linux PRNG; NIST's PQC standards

"Do stuff and then blog about it" remains one of the most underrated pieces of career advice
An absolutely fantastic way to increase this is to start a blog. Almost all the cool fun stuff in my professional life for me has come from doing stuff then blogging about it.

Every attack to software can be sum up in this image. Prevent issues, fix code, and continue to maintain your software.
This.
Unpopular opinion: we need to stop the cartoon illustrations depicting threat actors as pandas, cute robots or bears in CTI reporting. These are f*cking intelligence agencies or military units we're talking about. Let's get serious about this stuff, because it matters. We shouldn't desensitize all of this.
Hi @ernerfeldt, any pattern that I can be use for design an application using egui? Is there a way to separate the two main things in my app (frontend, and backend) ?

I’m preparing a state of art on monero, what would you be curious about?
I’ve abandoned monero’s camp long ago but its privacy features are interesting in comparison to cbdcs.
My current points in random order:
- anonimity sets
- how is liquidity w/o exchanges?
- atomic swaps
- range proofs, bullet proofs and circulating supply (ghost inflation)
I’ll do my digging and then ask a security researcher for a review and his pov
