Your email API key doesn't belong in your source code. 🔐
✓ Use environment variables or a secrets manager
✓ Never commit keys to Git
✓ Separate test and production credentials where possible
✓ Rotate exposed keys immediately
Small habits. Fewer security headaches.
Before shipping transactional email, test more than the happy path.
→ Invalid addresses
→ Authentication failures
→ Rate limits
→ Temporary failures
→ Bounces
Sending one test email successfully doesn't mean your integration is production-ready.

Some of your most-read emails are probably:
Order confirmations.
Password resets.
Shipping updates.
Yet transactional emails are often treated like database receipts.
Delivery comes first.
But once the email arrives, the experience still matters.

Sending email from Power Automate?
There are two ways to approach it:
📨 Outlook connector
⚙️ SMTP
The one you choose depends on what you're building.
Here's how to set up both 👇

Passwordless auth:
Enter email → Magic link → Sign in.
Simple.
Until the magic link lands in spam. 😬
If authentication depends on email, email delivery is part of your auth infrastructure.

Why send transactional email from a subdomain?
Reputation isolation.
A problem with your marketing emails shouldn't take down your:
→ Password resets
→ Receipts
→ Account notifications
Separate the streams. Protect the important stuff

Your Magento store sends emails customers actually need:
→ Order confirmations
→ Invoices
→ Password resets
→ Shipping updates
They shouldn't be getting lost in spam.

Ever wondered how brands get their logo to appear next to their emails? 👀
That's BIMI.
But BIMI isn't a shortcut to better deliverability.
You still need strong email authentication underneath: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforcement.
Here's how it works 👇

A user signs up.
“Check your email for a verification code.”
Nothing.
They wait. Resend. Eventually give up.
20 minutes later, it lands in spam.
That's not just an email problem. It's a product experience problem.
Transactional email needs to arrive when it matters.
A basic email API request isn't complicated:
From
To
Subject
HTML/Text
→ Send
Production gets more interesting:
Attachments
CC/BCC
Error handling
Webhooks
Delivery events
Bounces
Sending an email is easy.
Building email reliably into a product is the interesting part.
Developers, it's Friday
Time for email debugging group therapy😅
What's your worst email bug?
We'll start:
• Works locally, fails in prod
• Password resets disappear
• Everything lands in spam
• DNS looks right (it isn't)
• “Delivered” but nowhere to be found
Your turn👇
WordPress: “Email sent successfully.” ✅
Your customer: “I didn't get anything.” ❌
Both can be true.
“Sent” doesn't always mean “delivered.”
When debugging WordPress email, don't stop at:
Did WordPress send it?
Ask:
What happened after WordPress sent it?
