On the 21st of October 1937 the new Blackpool Victoria Hospital was officially opened by H.R.H. Prince George, Duke of Kent.
Costing £12m to build, £9m was provided in donations by the people of Blackpool, holidaymakers and business organisations.

Incredibly proud of these two....Smashed it with their GCSE’s & A Levels respectively. Culmination of a very long educational road and even longer & bizarre year! 📚 ✍🏻 📖 Onwards to the next stage for both! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

James Walmsley was manager of Blackpool Tower’s aquarium, he liked to drink sea water from his tanks. On the 17th June 1915 Jim was to imbibe his last drop, for late on that day his lifeless body was mysteriously discovered beneath the filter beds. #strangedeaths #cemetery – at Blackpool, England

Did you know donkey rides began on Blackpool beach around the 1830s? Donkeys were originally working animals for the fishing industry but owners saw the money making potential of charging holidaymakers to ride them. #seasideweek #blackpoolfromhome @ShowtownBPL

It's about protecting everyone. What if you were the one that passed Coronavirus on to your family and they became seriously ill? Is it worth the risk? No!
Anyone can get it. Anyone can spread it. Stay at home. 🏘️ #StayAtHomeLSC

It seems that Ms Flack may gift a great legacy to the young adults she represented so beautifully. There is no them n us in terms of "mental health". Just us! navigating our way through a fabulous & treacherous sea of 21st century life & all its gifts & dangers #carolinesgift

The majority of the people buried at St Johns Blackpool, remain where they were buried, only the tombstones were moved to the local cemetery in the 1920s when this area became an open space! You never know what lies beneath😱#northwestuk #cemetery #graves #whatliesbeneath

The number of assaults we responded to last New Years’ Eve tripled when compared to a Saturday in December just a couple of weeks before.
Look out for each other tonight and don’t let alcohol or drugs spoil the fun.
