This year, we are celebrating International Jazz Day under the shadow of a horrific genocide that takes place in Gaza. Since October 7th, the Israeli Occupation Forces killed 34.000+ Palestinian civilians and caused the displacement of millions. Jazz has been an instrument for social and political change throughout its entire history. April 30 as International Jazz Day, recognizes jazz as a means to develop and increase intercultural exchanges and understanding between cultures for the purpose of mutual comprehension and tolerance. On this special day, we once again declare our solidarity with the Palestinian people, endorse the global call for an immediate ceasefire and urgently demand an end to the illegal occupation of Palestine and routine violence against the Palestinian people by the Israeli apartheid state. On November 20th, we have launched the Jazz Against Apartheid merchandise collection to raise funds for Palestinians living in Gaza. All proceeds go to the Middle Eastern Childern’s Alliance. thejazzestate.shop/collectio…
