I wrote this in my greenhouse. I blasted Taylor Swift and blocked out the world and churned out chapter after chapter trying to bring my MC’s together when it felt like an impossible task. I loved writing this so much and hope people like reading it.

I’ve watched so many @hoofgp videos on YouTube that now whenever I peel potatoes and find one with a blemish I cut it away carefully and calmly like I’m treating a white line defect in Betty the Highland Cow. – at Bromley, London

They see a spy changing his appearance. I see a man gradually turning into Santa. – at Bromley, London

Some days I am a fully functioning and fairly together human being. Other days I stumble out of bed and try to put on my fingerless gloves as socks. Guess which type of day I am having today. – at Bromley, London

I (currently teaching year 1) often put the ‘rowdy’ (ie. Loud) children (not making any gender assumptions, because wtf) next to the quiet ones to help them with their learning. The quiet ones are less inclined to talk, but the louder ones are not, and talk for learning works. – at Bromley, London
My eldest is the quiet, well behaved kid and the rowdy boys are always put next to her. Watch me bring this up at the next school meeting. Things are about to get awkward af. SHE IS NOT THERE TO REGULATE THE BEHAVIOUR OF OTHERS.

Also, I’ve spent hours (if not days) putting together seating arrangements, so that all my children thrive. And then I test it for weeks afterwards to make sure it works for everyone. – at Bromley, London

The implication that teachers ‘sacrifice’ any one child for another is wrong. We want them all to do well. We want them all to learn. Trust your teachers. – at Bromley, London

I know my husband still loves me as much as the day he married me because at present I’m so run down and sick that my skin looks yellow and waxy and yet he still gave me a big kiss and smile this morning while calling me his ‘jaundiced goblin’. This is true love, folk. – at Bromley, London

My 11 year old niece’s list included: £124 bisou hair oils, £65 silk pyjamas, spaceNK makeup & a mini-fridge to store make-up. My 11 year old son, on the other hand, asked for Lego and Pokémon. There’s no space for girls to be girls. They are sold adulthood far too young. – at Bromley, London

I AM A BOOK CLUB PICK 🥰 Me, who spends most of her time thinking about kittens and what makes an appropriate potato filling, is a BOOK CLUB PICK. This is crazily wonderful. Thanks @ChocLituk @WomansWorldUS – at Bromley, London

Sarah has a child in her class who is completely blind. She was insistent that he needed to be able to read his holiday card for himself. So, we picked up a braille slate and stylus online for a few pounds, and she’s spent the last half hour making him his own card. My heart 🥹

It's now several hours since the unforgivably weak #COP28 draft text came out - which made no reference to fossil fuel phase-out at all, & leaders from France, Germany, EU, US & small island states have all widely condemned - yet still utter silence from UK Govt. Where are they??

This just came up as next on my TBR pile and I am so excited to read it

This is me next to DONNA ANDREWS and Becca Freeman’s book is next on my TBR list 🥹 The last time I was in a magazine I was 18 and it was for winning a timed hair braiding race (45 seconds for a full Dutch, which sounds dirty but really isn’t) so this has made my Monday! – at Bromley, London
We are thrilled to see Sharon Ibbotson’s Hanukkah at the Great Greenwich Ice Creamery featured in the most recent issue of US magazine, Woman’s World! 💜🤩 @seibbotson @WomansWorldUS

The tragic terrible news has come to me that Benjamin Zephaniah's family have announced that Benjamin has died. I'm devastated. I admired him, respected him, learnt from him, loved him. Love and condolences to the family and to all who loved him too.
