can't deal with this rn but wtf. it's only been a couple of days since ao3 went down & everything I see keeps making me want to disappear lmao
personally idrc if people share my fics, I'd be flattered, but those acting like authors who dislike it are just mad they don't get engagement instead of mad cuz fics are put on Gdocs, where the AI-scraping is why so many switched to ellipsus... it's either ignorant or tone-deaf
that being said, it's also true a lot of people are consumers rather than readers & don't engage in this community, as their lack of respect for fic writers shows... Some writers have good reasons not to want their fics shared, I don't get why that's hard to acknowledge & respect
