BREAKING: @CNN reports that the US military almost launched a military operation to intercept a Chinese vessel based on erroneous information provided by AI, almost starting a war with China!
The AI created a report saying that the Chinese vessel in the Middle East was carrying components of a nuclear weapon’s program.

People who work hard. Well I'm one of those, Andrew. I've worked since being 14. I am struggling now, at 52, at what would have been considered, 7 years ago, a good wage. I'm also disabled, that "good" wage goes nowhere now, especially with a disability.
According to the conservatives and the likes of @Helen_Whately, I'm a scrounger, a fraud, a liability. So fuck off with your false promises. If you wanted to fix it, you would have whilst you had the power to do so.

Our long-range responses had a very significant impact in the Moscow region last night. One of Russia’s key oil industry facilities and the aggressor’s logistics facility were hit. These are billions of dollars that sustain the war machine. The systems used included FP-1, RZ-100, MICH-2000, Palianytsia, Vendetta, Liutyi, Bars, Flamingo, Sichen, and Pelican.
I thank our warriors for their accuracy: the Security Service of Ukraine together with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces, the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. Sanctions were also imposed on a facility in the Voronezh region. Moscow must end its brutal war and choose peace instead of building layered rings of air defense at the expense of other regions. Steps toward de-escalation are on the table – in energy and food security. What is needed is political will. I thank everyone who is strengthening Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. I am grateful to everyone who complements our long-range responses with responses through sanctions. Glory to Ukraine!

One thing that is often conveniently overlooked by those complaining about Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is the astronomical prices that disabled people pay for equipment that they need.
I've just purchased a stand for my eye gaze equipped iPad and even with VAT exemption it cost over £300 for what is essentially two bits of aluminium tubing and some plastic brackets.
I know that it's a 'limited' market but even allowing for that it seems to be one hell of a mark up.
As well as being used to buy equipment, I contribute £700 per month towards my care costs. PIP also means that I keep on top of energy bills - enabling me to keep warm during the winter months.
PIP just makes my life as a severely disabled individual a little less difficult and hopefully you wouldn't begrudge that would you?

In 2024-25, 58 per cent of working-age adults in private-renting families on housing support were materially deprived on the DWP's measure, meaning their family could not afford a set of basic items.

Not all pensioners are mortgage free. Not all pensioners own their own homes. Many go into care homes and the asset of own home pays for it. Many are unpaid carers saving the state millions. Many do voluntary work. Many just cry due to illness and the constant pensioner bashing.
