Robusta coffee is printing a doji at ascending support of a broad symmetrical triangle, showing indecision as buyers attempt to defend an important technical level.
The broader structure remains bearish, with price still in a downtrend and below the key moving averages, meaning sellers continue to control the larger trend.
If Monday closes above today’s doji high, we could see a short-term bullish pivot and bounce, but within the current structure, rallies should still be treated as bear-market rallies until price can reclaim the key moving averages and begin invalidating the sequence of lower highs.
This is similar to the bounce we planned for and witnessed two weeks ago, tradable strength does not necessarily mean the broader trend has changed.

Following up on our post series below, Robusta Coffee remains firmly under bearish momentum, with another bearish continuation candle developing today.
Price remains in a clear downtrend and below the key moving averages, showing that sellers continue to control the broader structure while buyers have yet to establish meaningful demand.
MACD is also threatening to cross below its signal line, which could reinforce the downside momentum.
There’s no long setup here until we see selling pressure slow, a bottoming structure develop and a clear bullish pivot reversal signal. Patience.

Yesterday in the post below we shared that the continued weakness following Friday's and Monday's spinning top was showing indecision, reinforcing our thesis that the bounce would be short-lived, as buyers were struggling to maintain momentum while sellers began regaining control.
Today we get another bearish continuation candle, confirming that selling pressure remains dominant and adding further validation to the bearish pivot.
The reversal continues to play out as expected, with bears maintaining momentum and buyers still unable to establish a meaningful shift in control.

Robusta coffee looks like its bounce is finally losing steam.
Friday printed a spinning top, followed by another spinning top yesterday with a lower high and lower low, showing a clear lack of bullish advancement following the September 4 initiation of the bounce.
When we first identified the potential bounce, we noted it would likely be short-lived because the broader structure remains bearish, price is still in a downtrend, trading below key moving averages, while momentum indicators have shown limited strength.
Today’s weakness reinforces that thesis as buyers struggle to maintain momentum and sellers begin regaining control.
At this stage, the outlook remains neutral to bearish with no compelling setup heading into tomorrow. We take what the market gives us, and this bounce was short-lived as expected. Nothing becomes particularly interesting again until Robusta can reclaim meaningful overhead resistance.

#ROBUSTACOFFEE is printing a bullish continuation candle today, but a stronger pivot reversal typically requires prior indecision or clear rejection to show that selling pressure is exhausting and buyers are beginning to take control.
The MACD histogram is showing its first slowdown in downside momentum in over a week, suggesting selling pressure may be starting to ease, but price is not sitting at a meaningful support level.
Even if we get a bounce, overhead resistance would quickly become the logical target, offering only roughly 1:1.5 risk/reward without a strong bullish catalyst or high-probability technical setup behind the trade.
Could it bounce? Absolutely. But not every potential bounce is worth trading. With limited upside into resistance and little technical confirmation, we’ll pass and wait for a cleaner setup. Robusta coffee continues to play out from the trade setup we shared on September 4, although price hasn’t quite reached our target and we’re beginning to see some hesitation.
Friday printed a spinning top, followed by another spinning top today, highlighting indecision but not yet confirming a bearish pivot since today failed to close below Friday’s low.
Friday’s spinning top is now our lead candle, meaning bulls maintain the short-term momentum advantage as long as price closes above its low.
We expected this bounce to remain somewhat weak given the significant overhead resistance, but the MACD crossed above its signal line today, adding some support to the bullish case. For now, bulls still have a slight edge for further upside until price confirms a bearish pivot reversal.

Following up on our Robusta Coffee post below, we got the bounce we were looking for, but today price closed with a spinning top as it approached the 50 EMA and entered an overhead supply zone.
From the beginning, this pivot reversal needed to be treated as a bear-market rally, with price still below key moving averages, in a broader downtrend, and facing significant overhead resistance. The spinning top now signals hesitation as buyers encounter supply, making this more of a trim-and-trail area than a fresh long entry.
Bulls remain in control of the short-term bounce as long as price holds above the spinning top low, but a break below it could confirm a pivot-high reversal and put bears back in control.

Robusta Coffee delivered another strong bullish session today, printing both a higher high and higher close as the trade identified in our post series continues to work toward our price target.
Bulls remain in control, with the MACD now approaching a bullish crossover of its signal line, supporting improving momentum.
As price approaches overhead resistance and key moving averages, however, we should expect some supply and profit-taking to enter the market.
For traders already in the position, this remains a trim-and-trail environment, protecting profits while giving the trend room to continue.

In the post below on September 4, we shared a potential Robusta Coffee trade with a clearly defined entry, stop and target.
The setup is now playing out, although we noted at the time that the risk/reward wasn’t particularly attractive.
If you took the trade, you’re now in the money as price prints a strong bullish continuation candle and pushes to a higher high versus the previous five sessions, showing improving short-term demand.
The MACD is beginning to flatten and appears to be setting up for a potential bullish signal-line crossover, which would support further momentum. However, price remains in a broader downtrend below key moving averages, and with the 50 EMA and horizontal resistance approaching around $3,650–$3,700, we should anticipate potential supply and selling pressure in that zone.
Manage risk accordingly and avoid confusing a profitable countertrend bounce with a confirmed trend reversal.

Robusta coffee prints another bearish continuation candle as the breakdown continues to materialize.
Price is approaching oversold territory, but oversold does not mean a bottom is in.
There is still no bottoming pattern or bullish pivot reversal to signal buyers are taking control.
Until that changes, momentum remains bearish and sellers remain firmly in control.

Terrible price action here in Robusta coffee.
We’ve been patiently monitoring the descending channel and symmetrical triangle over the last few weeks while price consolidated around the key moving averages, waiting for a break above descending resistance before considering an entry.
Instead, patience kept us out as price gradually lost the moving averages, broke horizontal support, and is now losing descending-channel support.
At this point, price is below the key moving averages and firmly in a downtrend, with MACD expanding to the downside and RSI near 36 and pointing lower.
Bears have gained full momentum here, and there’s simply no reason to fight the trend until price shows us a legitimate reversal change of composure.

Robusta coffee bears maintained control today with another bearish continuation candle.
Tuesday we lost the 50 EMA, Wednesday horizontal support broke, and price is now testing descending channel support.
Momentum remains weak with the MACD expanding to the downside and RSI in a zone of weakness around 39.
We’ve been waiting for an upside break of the descending channel before turning bullish, and with significant overhead resistance, including the 50 and 200 EMA, any bounce should be treated as a bear-market rally until price breaks the channel and recaptures those key moving averages.

Robusta coffee continues to show weakness with another bearish continuation candle as price tests the descending support of its falling channel.
Bears remain firmly in control, with the sequence of lower highs and lower lows reflecting continued selling pressure and little evidence that buyers are ready to step in.
From a trading perspective, there is no attractive long entry yet. I’d want to see either a confirmed bullish pivot reversal from descending channel support, showing buyers are beginning to absorb supply, or a breakout above the falling channel that signals a potential change in trend.
Until then, patience is warranted and the bears maintain control.

Robusta Coffee completely failed its breakout attempt today after yesterday’s recapture of the 50 EMA put price on breakout watch.
Bulls attempted to push higher, but sellers stepped in aggressively at the confluence of descending resistance and the 200 EMA, rejecting the move and sending price back toward the 50 EMA.
This is exactly why patience and confirmation are critical when trading breakouts, an initial push through resistance means very little if buyers cannot sustain the move.
For now, Robusta continues to consolidate within its descending channel, and bulls need to reclaim the 200 EMA and break descending resistance before we can confirm a meaningful change in market structure.

Robusta coffee delivered a strong move today, reclaiming horizontal overhead resistance and the 50-day EMA before closing directly into a major confluence zone at the 200-day EMA and descending wedge resistance.
From a market psychology perspective, buyers clearly attempted to gain momentum today and absorbed overhead supply, but price is now testing an area where sellers have previously maintained control, falling wedge resistance.
That puts Robusta on breakout watch tomorrow, a confirmed push and close above the 200-day EMA and wedge resistance would represent a meaningful change in technical structure and could open the door to the next leg higher.
Until that confirmation occurs, however, resistance is still resistance, so patience remains important rather than anticipating the breakout.

Yesterday, bulls attempted to reclaim overhead horizontal resistance following last week’s breakdown through multiple support levels, but the move was rejected at the 50 EMA and former horizontal support now acting as resistance.
Today we have an inside-range candle, reflecting further indecision and a lack of bullish follow-through after the rejection.
From a market psychology standpoint, buyers are attempting to regain control, but sellers continue to defend key technical levels and prevent any meaningful shift in momentum.
Until bulls can decisively recapture overhead resistance and ideally break above descending resistance, there is no attractive long setup with a favorable risk/reward profile. For now, patience is warranted.

Robusta Coffee continues to show bearish technical deterioration after yesterday’s breakdown below horizontal support and the key 50 EMA.
Today we’re seeing additional selling pressure with another bearish continuation candle, confirming that sellers have seized short-term momentum and that the loss of support was more than just a temporary breakdown.

Robusta Coffee had been consolidating sideways for several weeks, but today we’re seeing a significant deterioration in the technical structure as price breaks multiple support levels with a strong bearish continuation candle, losing both horizontal support and the 50 EMA while MACD continues to expand to the downside.
Bulls had an opportunity to maintain control by defending these demand zones, but today bears have absorbed that demand and pushed price toward the session lows, signaling increasing selling pressure.
From a long perspective, patience is required until price can invalidate descending resistance and begin rebuilding a bullish structure.
Recent bounce attempts have consistently failed to generate meaningful follow-through, so until we start seeing higher lows, higher highs, and a confirmed breakout above descending resistance, any bounce should be treated with caution rather than assumed to be the beginning of a sustainable reversal.

Robusta coffee printed another bearish continuation candle today as price remains trapped within a sideways consolidation pattern between the 50 and 200 EMA while continuing to hold above horizontal support.
Despite the short-term selling pressure, price hasn’t surrendered much technical ground, while lagging indicators continue to reset and work off prior momentum.
