🔍 Found on-chain: Virtue has deployed a compensation mechanism to the #IOTA mainnet – and it has never once been triggered. Since the oracle exploit of Aug 28, the debate has been about whether validators may intervene. While that debate runs, Virtue quietly did something else: on September 17 at 13:47 UTC, a new immutable package went live on mainnet. 🔸 Two modules, recovery and recovery_events. The bytecode is publicly readable. 🔸 The mint() function mints fresh VUSD and deposits it straight into the stability pool under a beneficiary's address. An event records recipient, amount and the resulting balances on-chain. 🔸 It hangs off Virtue's own VUSD treasury and requires its AdminCap – so only Virtue itself can trigger it. There are no public entry functions. 🔸 Nothing has happened yet: querying events on both modules returns zero results (checked Sep 18, 09:02 UTC). The part that matters for context: this is not a validator intervention. Nothing is being reversed and no ownership is being reassigned – Virtue would compensate affected users at the application layer, with newly minted VUSD. Which is exactly the route DLT.GREEN names as the right one in its validator policy: "Compensation, rebuilding of positions, negotiations, exchanges, and insurance lie with the respective dApps and their service providers. Not with the validator set." Two questions stay open: whether the VUSD treasury has whitelisted this module at all, and what newly minted VUSD would be backed by. Virtue itself has said nothing since Sep 10. Der Bytecode ist öffentlich einsehbar. 🔸 Die Funktion mint() prägt neue VUSD und zahlt sie direkt an die Adresse eines Begünstigten in den Stability Pool ein. Ein Event hält Empfänger, Betrag und die resultierenden Salden on-chain fest. 🔸 Sie hängt an Virtues eigenem VUSD-Treasury und verlangt dessen AdminCap – auslösen kann das also nur Virtue selbst. Wichtig für die Einordnung: Das ist kein Eingriff der Validatoren. Hier wird nichts rückabgewickelt und kein Eigentum umverteilt – Virtue würde Betroffene auf Anwendungsebene entschädigen, mit frisch geprägten VUSD. Not with the validator set." Zwei Fragen bleiben offen: ob der VUSD-Treasury dieses Modul überhaupt freigeschaltet hat, und womit neu geprägte VUSD gedeckt wären. Virtue selbst hat sich seit dem 10.09. nicht geäußert.
