The Charlotte Hornets on Feb. 11 are retiring the No. 1 jersey of Muggsy Bogues, the shortest player in NBA history at 5-foot-3. Bogues spent 10 of his 14 NBA seasons in Charlotte (1988-1998) and is the franchise leader in assists, steals and minutes.

I think Bill Hicks was right when he said that celebrities who do commercials should be "off the artistic roll call forever" - and back then he was only talking about Jay Leno shilling for Doritos, not every modern celeb promoting the Life-Ruining App xitter.cf/Variety/status/2113656…
Shane Gillis and Danny McBride play feuding weathermen in a new four-minute Kalshi ad. “In the past year I’ve made some questionable trades on contracts for local weather, Costco hot dog prices and cricket,” McBride said in a statement. “Working with Kalshi to make this very unique ad was a great way to both make amends on some of my questionable predictions, but also get to work with Shane, and reunite with my good pal, Deep Roy.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/sha…

I never thought I'd see the website in a museum, but here she is. This is the Artisan version of the website, which was recoded to be more stable than ours was. They also took out the discussion board, which is where the fansom all started.
The Academy Museum has recreated the original promo website for ‘THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT’.

When I was a film student, all everyone talked about was my production values, complaining that they weren't good enough. So I worked. Really. Hard. On my product values. And now still all anyone wants to talk about is my production values. (???) #thefaceofhorror

It's happening: Per sources, the Brooklyn Nets will be holding a Swamp Dragons night on Jan. 29 as part of a series of "eras nights" celebrating franchise history. There will be merchandise, I'm told.

Summer box office (domestic) finished 9.4% ahead of the pre-pandemic average, per FranchiseRe, and 26.6% ahead of last year. Year-to-date gross is now down just 7.2% from pre-pandemic levels. A pretty remarkable comeback.

How far have the Knicks come? Every star in the NBA is being traded and in New York the panic is over losing a backup center (I mean, I just wrote a column on how he's more than that role, but still). Strange days.
