Jared Goff is the only day one starter to not throw an interception this season. Incredible.

🧵 Is LA Kings season REALLY over? With 78 games left it is unfathomable that their season is likely over. So, I looked into it. Assuming it will take 95 points to have a shot at the second wild card spot (remember they play 84 games now so that's being conservative) ...

What a night for Jordin Canada 👏 She joins Cynthia Cooper and Diana Taurasi as the only players in WNBA history to record 11+ AST & 0 TO in a series-clinching game, helping the @AtlantaDream reach their first Finals since 2013!

Agoura football coach Dustin Croick was busy with relatives in town. He turned off his phone. Then he saw 173 text messages. Then he faced timed with his former QB Ty Dieffenbach after UCLA beat Oregon. Emotional day.

Firefighter 1 ✅ Firefighter 2 ✅ Emt ✅ Paramedic ✅ I set my mind on becoming a firefighter and got it done. The journey wasn’t easy, but I trusted the process and kept my faith in God. Now I’m a firefighter and paramedic. Crazy to think about sometimes. All glory to God!
🚨🚨THIS IS AWESOME🚨🚨 Former #Browns WR Hollywood Higgins announced that he is now a firefighter. “Becoming a firefighter gives me that chance to show up when people need it most. To save lives, or simply to stand beside someone on their worst day” This is truly amazing 🙌👏

My 7-year-old son can’t watch sports with me anymore. Not because of the games, but because of the commercials. The horror movie trailers are the worst. The terrifying imagery can send him into a spiral of anxiety that lasts well beyond the 30-second ad. These are images his young mind simply isn’t ready to process. We talk a lot about mental health in this country, especially in sports. Yet between the relentless gambling ads, alcohol promotions and genuinely disturbing horror trailers, I’ve reached a point where watching an MLB or NFL game with my kids requires me to monitor every commercial break. I love sports. I work in sports. Some of my favorite childhood memories were made watching games with my family. I want that for my sons. I wish we could exercise better judgment about what we’re putting in front of families during sporting events. Sports should bring generations together. Instead, I’m increasingly forced to treat game day like an adults-only event. Something feels very wrong about that.

The best pitcher in baseball refuses to lift weights, warms up by throwing a javelin, and scouts hitters with a paper notebook. The Dodgers paid him $325 million and then hired his sensei too. The notebook makes sense once you see the rest of his system. Yamamoto trains under Osamu Yada, who has never told him to touch a barbell. Javelin throws instead of long toss. Handstands, back bridges, breathing work. The Dodgers studied the routine, decided they couldn't improve it, and hired Yada rather than change Yamamoto. During free agency, one team's recruiting gift to him was a team-logoed javelin, just to prove how deep their research went. The results broke baseball's assumptions. Last November he threw 96 pitches in World Series Game 6, then came out of the bullpen and closed Game 7 the very next day. Now look at the dugout. Every MLB club runs Hawk-Eye, a dozen cameras per stadium tracking spin, tilt, and swing path on every single pitch. Yamamoto has all of it on an iPad ten feet away. He writes by hand anyway. Japanese player development bakes this in. Kids keep baseball journals from little league on, charting every at-bat in their own words. The logic survives contact with analytics. League data tells you what a hitter does on average. A pitcher's own notes capture what that hitter did against him tonight, pitch by pitch, while the at-bat is still fresh. By the third time through the order, he's working from a document no analytics department can generate. Mookie Betts watched this for two seasons. This spring he started throwing javelins too. Baseball built the most surveilled playing field in sports. Its best October pitcher still trusts the notebook in his back pocket more.
Yamamoto has a secret journal he uses to document hitters weaknesses.
