Shekar Krishnan, you’re leaving out some important numbers.
According to NYPD and MTA records, comparing January–September 2026 with the same period in 2019:
• Subway ridership is down 22.9%.
• Violent felonies are up 25.9%.
• Violent felonies per million rides are up 63.3%.
• Total major felonies per million rides are up 19%.
And violent crime per ride is up 7.4% compared with the same period in 2025 as originally reported.
You’re celebrating lower crime totals while ignoring how many fewer people are riding the subway.
I compiled the numbers directly from NYPD and MTA records. They’re attached.
You can argue politics all you want. You don’t get to leave out the denominator.
Subway ridership is up, and subway crime is the lowest in 16 years. That’s @KathyHochul's record of delivering for us.
Bruce Blakeman’s record is stoking fear and division. He's using the same old MAGA playbook that is failing across the country.

Be advised — @streetsblogNYC the mouthpiece for @openplans and @TransAlt attempting ‘journalism’ aka propaganda.
Very innovative reporting approach from @StreetsblogNYC.
Really looking forward to their analysis after a full day fanning out across Central Park .
Since @NYPDTraining and @CMvpaladino allow Academy students to park at No Standing/No Parking signs without getting ticketed, have ghost plates and the likes, I will be doing the same.
The @NYC_DOT and @NYPD_Traffic and @NYCCouncil are complicit in the total fucking shit show that's occurring on the intersection of Hillside Avenue and Van Wyck Expressway north.
Replying to @NYC_DOT
@NYC_DOT @nick_benson why are your trucks obscuring plates than illegally parking in no standing zones
This was on whitestone expwy service road. Practice what you preach... hypocrites
@nick_benson still waiting for a response as to why your employees are allowed to do this with regularity while your agency tries to screw car owners
If @NYCSanitation is allowed to obscure plates, and @NYC_DOT is allowed to obscure plates, I'm going to start heavily obscuring mine as well
@NYCSanitation this truck slammed on his brakes because he almost blew a red light on Sheridan and conduit
At this point, the only way to deal with the DOT is to introduce their executives to old school New York and how things were handled back then when the average citizen was getting screwed

Some people say NOBD is cheating because it makes dashing too easy in MvC2, so I tested it, and here are the results.

I'm tired of hitting every redlight on woodsmen blvd because of the @NYC_DOT piss poor retiming of traffic signals. It was meant for buses, I passed about seven of them going to speed limit.
Only way to beat these lights and get a consistent green is the speed about 10 over
Do people not realize that all hardware (fare gates, surveillance cameras, etc) deployed by the @MTA are AI and biometric recording capable? Don't even think people realize or know that the new turnstiles record 5s videos when "suspected of fare beating". Explains their push.
Street racing right up the block from the @NYPDTraining in @CMvpaladino district. It's 1241am and no one is doing a damned thing🧐
city councils website for todays props confirms a few things:
- that we have 680k daily cyclist/ebikes w/ 65k of them being delivery drivers.
- lobby groups crying that 20 cyclist died this year. Given the number of annual commuters, that makes the city safe

Have never seen a more accurate take on modern urbanism. They wont understand that this is making fun of them 😂
Here we have @KrisTeschner another overly progressive transplant that doesnt know she lives next to little haiti and thinks grand army plaza is unsafeA, despite stats showing otherwise.
