Against all odds, I somehow got the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle and the new Pro Controller preordered by waiting in line at GameStop this morning! That means we’ll definitely be streaming Mario Kart World on launch 🫡

The Oblivion remaster is actually happening? 👀

I won’t ever really understand any of this. Trying to enforce strict rules just leads to extra stress and worries. I get it; people do things you don’t like. But it’s the internet. Things I don’t like are everywhere. I personally don’t see my stream or my chat as a “safe space” at all. I won’t let someone bother other chatters, but if you’re not hurting anyone’s ability to enjoy the stream, I don’t care what you do. My one rule is don’t attack other people in chat or people I’m playing with. Obviously, blatant racism and similar nonsense will just get you perma banned. My stream is the stage and I’ve learned to roll with the punches. I don’t stop the show every five minutes to get upset at a troll or someone being annoying. I either ignore them, time them out, or ban them if they’ve already received several timeouts. I won’t even acknowledge they were ever in the chat, unless I use them as an opportunity for a joke. I may do annual unbans where everyone gets unbanned. I haven’t decided. Honestly, you’d be surprised how much ignoring a troll incentivizes them to actually be a regular human if they want any interaction at all from me. Multiple times this has turned a common troll into a return viewer who actually follows the rules, maybe a slightly inappropriate joke here and there. I don’t pay attention to those who haven’t earned my attention. Everyone else in chat is pleasant. They’re my priority. Not someone with too much time on their hands trying to get under my skin. After a few times of me not responding to their stupidity, they’ll try being civil and I’ll actually respond. This is how you incentivize new chatters to be decent instead of disruptive or irritating. Banning them and getting upset usually leads to them coming back on a different account. And if it’s entertaining enough to them, they’ll do it for months on end. Remain unbothered or they did exactly what they set out to do. Plus, they took your attention away from those who actually deserve it. If you consistently give the worst people attention, other people will do the same type of things to get your attention because they know it works.
