Listen to these guys, they know from podcasts. (And more importantly, listen to Shell Game! shellgame.co)
This is not a science fiction story. 👥 Tech journalist @ev_rat made a digital copy of himself and set it loose on the world. The result? Amazement, a little fear, and a lot of questions about our future.
This is Shell Game. apple.co/ShellGame

Dive into Shell Game, a podcast where journalist @ev_rat explores the world of AI voice technology. In Season One, Evan creates a voice clone and engages it with spammers, friends, and even therapists to uncover the capabilities and limitations of AI. #podcastdelivery

You can spend the weekend parsing presidential news... or you can relax, throw on your headphones, and enjoy an AI version of me making shit up as it tangles with corporate customer service.
(Or both, but do grab Episode 1 at shellgame.co, Ep 2 is next week!)
This is what it's been like living with @ev_rat recently. To understand why, check out the Shell Game podcast that launched today. shellgame.co or wherever you get your podcasts.

My daughter made a computer for her “work call” and I am sorry for her that this is life but also happy for her that her colleagues are so cheerful.
I’ve long admired the energy, doggedness, and wit of the @buzzfeednews team. Very excited to have them as colleagues soon!
And some professional news: After 7.5 years at The New York Times, I’ll be moving on at the end of the month. I’m so proud of role I’ve had in building our audio business and the team behind The Daily, Caliphate, Still Processing, and more great stuff that’s on the way.
I still sort of <3 that bird.
Imagine if you woke every morning to listen to this, instead of the Daily. It was really close to happening: nytimes.com/2019/02/22/podca…
Love this write-up by @nwquah on Caliphate. Perfectly captures what's special about the series, and about the team behind it: @Andy_MillsNYT @rcallimachi @larissaluu @SchwendyDorr & @Pasthaaa vulture.com/2018/04/caliphat…
Just announced at #CodeMedia: The Daily is coming to radio! recode.net/2018/2/13/1700566…
If you like 90s hip-hop and chilling out, you'll love @mikiebarb on your new Apple Homepod (note: we did not pay for this product placement)
See this? It's the snazzy new audio player in the @nytimes app that lets you—finally—tap to listen to The Daily right in the app nytco.com/the-new-york-times…
This first episode of The Daily, hosted by @mikiebarb, is up now and makes sense of the Gorsuch pick art19.com/shows/the-daily/ep…
