This needs to be read and considered. Every child should be able to see themselves represented in the books they see and read.
🔊 Our 7th annual #ReflectingRealities report is out now! This year’s report shows a significant drop in the presence of racially minoritised characters in books published for children in 2023 in the UK.

He was the worst President in history. And when he got voted out, he tried to stage a coup. Then he stole national secrets and sold the ones he didn't store in the bathroom.
He was convicted of fraud, found liable of sexual assault and convicted of 34 felonies. He is half a billion dollars in debt, owned by God only knows who, and the biggest national security risk the nation has ever had.
But at least he's not a Black woman.
When you've read @Elif_Safak There are Rivers in the Sky and then walked the Camino de Santiago, what do you do? Get a cuneiform tattoo meaning 'from now on' of course

Festivals contribute so much to the UK, but we spend just 0.46% of GDP on culture, forcing organisers like @cheltfestivals to make tough choices.
We must recognise their wider contribution to society and invest in our cultural sector if we are to remain a cultural superpower.6
