Surviving Windows involves a daily number of explorer.exe restarts. I've got a "Restart Explorer.bat" Batch script on all Windows 10 desktops containing: taskkill /f /im explorer.exe start explorer.exe

The SA Home Affairs login page takes ~9.7s to load. Actually logging in takes ~3.5min🤯. I don't know if I'm ever going to receive the OTP to complete my login. There must be someone manually fetching data from the database over there.

I made a short video of my experience at @UltratrailCT last weekend. What a blast 😁 youtu.be/CD66MqxD90M

My favourite hobby: seeing which sites are using React with the "React Developer Tools".
When #webdev is part of the UX (part 2); Just had to "Clear site data" in the dev tools to get #YouTube partially working...

When #webdev is part of the UX; I had to manually remove a "disabled" attribute from a save button on my bank's site in order to add a new recipient. 🤯
To all landing pages out there, please make your login button more visible. I know you have to optimise for new clients but give a little love to your existing ones.

I'm going to be on the @chriswillow show live tonight (9pm SA time). We're going to be chatting about some music software I've been working on as well as take a listen to his latest track "Keeper of the flame". Looking forward to this one 🎧👨‍💻😄 rebrand.ly/chriswillowshow

marathondelosandes(dot)pe must have been taken over at some point.
This type of UI is designed to trick the user. The prominent/primary button will switch everything on, ignoring the settings made above. The secondary button will do what the user actually wants; save the settings they just made above. I'm seeing it all over the place nowadays.
A screenshot of a WeTransfer manage cookies setting dialog with some settings sliders for various types of cookie settings. There are also a "Save and close" and "Accept all" buttons. The "Accept all" button is visually more prominent.

My trust in a service/app is instantly lost when one of my first interactions with it is deceiving. If I did not stop to think for a second, I probably would have missed it. I've seen many examples of this in the wild - I imagine lots of people are being fooled.

Was looking for a decent disk space usage visualizer on Windows 10 but then I realized I can run `ncdu` on `/mnt/c` with `WSL2`. Truly crazy times.
