As a teacher, I used to get a bit overwhelmed when I saw someone else doing something amazing - in their instructional practice or in their assessment design.
Now, I just celebrate it. I'm so excited for the students who have the chance to learn in such inspired classrooms
Thinking this morning about the role of purpose in our day to day interactions with students.
We often think about how to engage the mind, but how do we also engage student hearts and intentions?
So proud to see our team co-presenting with the Dr. Beth Goldstein and the Babson Youth Impact Lab, at this year’s annual Tri-Association conference in Mexico City. #nowherelikelincoln
We assume so much about what students can already do. The classroom is where we teach those behaviors, not just expect them (although we need to do both).
Question:
One of the things our teachers have asked for in our most recent school culture survey, is more focus on teacher well-being. What have you seen done that communicates to teachers that the school is thinking about their well-being?

Want happier, healthier kids?
Offer them autonomy.
Massive new meta-analysis makes it plain:
In every culture, control leaves children worse off — but autonomy helps them people engage, learn, and grow.
I love a classroom where the learning intentions are explicit and clear for students. #nowherelikelincoln #inspiringpeople
Our Athletics Open House is underway. We are approaching 1000 students participating in our after school athletics programs - and we love welcoming parents on campus to get to strengthen relationships with our coaching teams. #nowherelikelincoln #inspiringpeople

Student self-portraits frame the doorway, as students are greeted as they enter the classroom. Everything pointing to students as the center of our learning intentions. #nowherelikelincoln #inspiringpeople
Our art teacher uses student artwork everywhere - including in the borders of his bulletin boards. His classroom is a studio space where everything honors his student artists. #nowherelikelincoln #inspiringpeople

ALL are the results of the designs we make before we ever step foot in the room.
