Hurricane Isaias became the first major hurricane (Category 3+) of the season earlier this morning, expected to make a dangerous landfall this evening...
Isaias went through considerable improvements overnight as it was aided by the jet, but recent signs indicate that this has likely peaked in strength. While increasing shear will take a toll on Isaias, the fact it has aligned with the shear vector will lead to less weakening than originally anticipated ahead of landfall. At this point of time, it is safe to say that when the storm makes landfall this evening in the extreme western Florida panhandle, it will be either a high-end Category 2 or a low-end Category 3. We will be live later today covering this landfall!

The White House has removed CNN’s access to Air Force One for President Donald Trump’s Saturday flight to Knoxville, where he is scheduled to attend Tennessee-Texas, and replaced it with Real America’s Voice and Lindell TV.
CNN White House correspondent Alayna Treene announced the replacement during an appearance on the network with Anderson Cooper and was not very pleased with the change.
