The constant griping about Ukraine and Zelenskyy has become very annoying. They are defending their country from invasion. That doesn't mean we have to give them everything they want or value their security more than the U.S. economy, but the blame for all of this lies solely with Vladimir Putin and I'm sick of pretending otherwise.
The thing is, you don't even have to be "pro-Ukraine" to find Trump’s actions from last week deeply troubling. McCarthy is right on the money with this piece...
Trump’s Aid and Comfort to Putin — for those who came of age in the Cold War, this is hard to fathom. But if you stick to the facts, it’s impossible to deny … nationalreview.com/2026/10/c…

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.

The Administration’s decision to reduce intel sharing to Ukraine & access to Starlink equates to aiding the invader & the war criminal who bombs cities. Does the Administration think it will get ANY support for the remainder of the 119th Congress? Their agenda is dead unless they change paths.

Yes, which is why a clean voter ID law would make sense both in terms of politics and policy. But Trump wants a ludicrously onerous proof-of-citizenship law, which is a different thing.
As Milton Friedman said, overall government spending is the *true* tax. (Which is why conservatives used to care about such things...)
Some folks are missing @PeterSchiff’s point:
ALL government spending is paid for by citizens, through taxes, inflation, interest, AND debt (deferred tax).
The Big Beautiful Bill increased spending by $100’s of billions over the next few years, so it increased what YOU MUST PAY.

Ukraine should obliterate the Russian energy infrastructure. One cannot unilaterally stop fighting back when Putin keeps bombing Ukrainian cities and energy grid. The ceasefire was never respected by Putin.
We never communicate what we will do next in our operations. Last night, we did not attack any energy facilities on the territory of Russia because President Trump said that there would be an energy ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia. We did not attack, while Russia attacked our gas stations, energy infrastructure, and other facilities.
I think it was Putin’s answer to President Trump. And the message from Russia was very clear – they don't know anything about the energy ceasefire. It's a pity, because they always find reasons not to stop this war. Which is why I think we need more pressure on Russia.
From an interview with Fox News.
The president has been saying for years that Putin wants to make a deal, but I'd love to know what the evidence of that is. He's the aggressor in this war and regularly attacks civilian targets with no military purpose. He is a war criminal.

Among other things, a president shouldn't be able to dramatically shift U.S. policy in the course of one phone call with a tyrant he happens to admire.

70% of Americans support Ukraine. Propping up Putin’s war economy is morally wrong as he uses that money to bomb cities. The President’s policies towards Russia and Ukraine are failures. We need moral clarity not moral ambiguity.

Congress just passed a law giving Trump the power to impose new tariffs on major buyers of Russian oil & gas.
Can America tariff America?

OPINION by Michael Schaus: Why is Nevada’s deep-red northern congressional district now in play for November? It’s what happens when you enlist candidates whose only credentials are a Trump anointment.

As much as possible, ppl shld pay for their own education, health care, retirement. When Social Security and, to a lesser degree, Medicare, were enacted, folks 65+ were more likely than average to be poor. Help the needy, not the well-off; shrink size, scope, spending of govt.
