Join us this Saturday, July 29th (8:30 to 11:00 pm) to hear from Dr. Ameek Sidhu about the Interstellar Medium - the #cosmic soup of gas and dust that fills the space between #stars in our #galaxy! As always, you will have your chance to look through #telescopes!
So impressed with the speed and skills of the tree crew!
Big thanks to @CityofLdnOnt and @LondonHydro for your quick work in restoring power and cleaning up debris from the storm.
Folks, if you have dangerous branches tree debris, you can report it easily here: service.london.ca/
This is very weird - we don’t have to make stuff up, because the Universe is always surprising! Beautiful result Ilaria!
Illaria Caiazzo, a postdoctoral scholar research associate at @PMACaltech, explains how her team used @ztfsurvey to discover a very unusual "two-faced" white dwarf – one side is all helium and the other side, hydrogen.

I just donated - astronomy gives me so much joy, and this is a lovely way to share it. I still love it when someone sees Saturn or the Moon for the first time through a telescope. More often than not, they say "wow!". Those views really are that cool.
We're 15% of the way to our goal!! Thank you to everyone amplifying our cause -- many astronomers have been donating and thanking us for embarking on this mission. We thank YOU for being a part of our science community. It takes a village to make progress! thesciencehaven.org/stellard…
Ukpik-1 is in space! Congrats to all the CubeSat teams - this is an impressive milestone. @westernuSpace
Congratulations to the teams from University of Saskatchewan, University of Manitoba, Western University, York University and Concordia University on the successful deployment of their CubeSat earlier today!

My local #ldnont library is Landon - it’s the heart of our local community, and I use my card to access scads of audiobooks regularly. Kudos @Irondequoit Library for the evidence-based smack down.
Did you catch that op-ed at @Forbes over the weekend stating "Amazon Should Replace Local Libraries to Save Taxpayers Money"?
We very much disagree, and we've got the facts in this thread to prove it.
