My company Newson Health is funding a PhD student at Liverpool John Moores University to research the effects of perimenopause/menopause on mental health, specifically suicidality.
As part of the research, we are looking for women who have experienced suicidal or self-harming thoughts/behaviours during their menopausal transition for a short online interview (30 mins).
The objectives are to develop a method to identify perimenopausal/menopausal people at suicide risk and to identify appropriate and beneficial treatments for them. We hope this research will highlight the severity of menopausal mental health symptoms and help how those experiencing them are treated in healthcare.

As we prepare to move into our new Medical SDEC unit as part of Phase 2 of our Urgent&EmergencyCareCentre development, we restate our 100% commitment that SDEC will always be protected to maximise the skills of our clinical team & will never be used for bedded inpatient capacity.
Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services are being restored and many improvements have been made, but some #SDEC services are being utilised for activity that does not meet the remit. See our joint statement with @RCollEM to help tackle this issue. acutemedicine.org.uk/blog/20…

Today on ITV's @thismorning , coeliac disease was discussed during a phone in segment on the show. We are deeply concerned about the content and advice given to a caller attending a Christmas family event where all of the food will be gluten free to protect the health of a person with coeliac disease. We are actively following up with @ITV . You can read our open letter in the comments below, and will share any responses we receive.
In the meantime we ask you to contact This Morning to ask them to give an apology to our gluten free community on air for this damaging and inaccurate information, and to engage with Coeliac UK to ensure their information is accurate in future.
