Jotai on the backend for in-memory state when you want memoizations to compute greedily.. tell me I'm crazy

specific use case is a refreshing remote schema loader for GQL schema stitching. The loaded schema is the "state" and the remote / local stitched schema is the memoized value.

I almost never post but it must be said: @EveryoneSays_hi is so so SO good.

And for frame of reference, I called spectrum, went and got the equipment and setup fully working internet before @HawaiianTel’s support was able to get back to me as they “check into it.” This really has been beyond bad customer experience and into barely a business territory.

@HawaiianTel I’ve been trying to setup internet with you since August 10. I have spent more than 6 hrs on the phone with your representatives. I have been told I will receive a callback 5 times, not one of which happened. Posting in case there’s anyone at your company that cares.

The most crazy part of this is that for 3 days I had working fiber which your system automatically canceled because it thinks my address “can’t support fiber.” It’s literally as though you don’t want me to be a paying customer. If anyone there cares about customer service DM me.

There’s so many out there and none of them have the gecko grips and the super clear lenses like y’all! I miss you but you just don’t work in the water right now 😢

Large companies generate a gargantuan amount of carbon-dioxide pollution. Just as they might use Salesforce to manage customer relationships, or Justworks to manage payroll and benefits, soon they could need a single place to manage their climate data. heatmap.news/technology/corp…

@SoFi you make it so hard to love you. How can a tech forward fintech company not work with plaid? (or at least give me CSV export?) it’s sad when the big backward banks are beating you on basic tech stuff </grump>

Btw I would actually switch to your credit card if you had this. But no way am I manually entering hundreds of transactions each month. The relative infrequency of checking transactions is the only reason I’m not gone yet.
We’re going to be on Maui for three weeks in June and I’m really going to miss is my Tonal! If anyone has or knows someone in Maui who has one of these who would be willing to rent its use to me a few times a week please let me know! I will pay handsomely haha 🙂

The fires across the West Coast are just the latest examples of the very real ways our changing climate is changing our communities. Protecting our planet is on the ballot. Vote like your life depends on it—because it does.

Go watch this now. I’m serious. Stop whatever you are doing and watch it. I already knew much of this as a former growth hacker and we all have some misgivings about social media but this film connects it in a way that we all need to see. netflix.com/title/81254224?s… – at Eugene, OR

With Breonna Taylor’s lawyers finding the no-knock raid that killed her was part of a neighborhood redevelopment effort, I thought it might be useful to review the academic literature on policing during gentrification. 1/11 courier-journal.com/story/ne…

Police disproportionately fine Black, Native, and Latinx Seattleites, as shown in great new research by @frankalready and @AlexesHarris . Has anyone researched the effect of fines and fees on aggregate poverty rates or racial wealth gaps? bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
