This looks like a good book. Anyone else read it?
I’d urge those who don’t think small towns deserve pro clubs to read this - written by the late great American author Joe McGinniss , the story of an Italian town, its culture and its football. A must read. ⬇️

Here you go #USSF. You may use this modified flag to demonstrate solidarity w/ women who have endured a toxic culture under your watch as a less complicated sign you are willing to actually shake things up rather than social media poking Iran. #yatesreport #reformUSSF #USWNT
The official US Soccer Twitter has posted the flag of Iran without the Islamic Republic symbol. US Soccer says it's to show "support for the women in Iran fighting for basic human rights." US Soccer adds it was a one-time display and it will restore the symbol moving forward.

Best week of fan sport viewing in my lifetime and it’s all called football.
Yes. The more people learn about how the business of soccer is conducted in this country the more they will push for reform. I didn’t used to know…And then I started to educate myself. #reformUSSF
Look, I respect people who just say to me "I like MLS because I want to watch soccer." But when people promote the business model, anti-competitive & anti-free market, I get unhappy. The ramifications of a closed system are enormous and hold players & communities back.
American owners keep buying European clubs. Now Lyon. England, Italy, Spain and France have a lot of US owners who accept the {economic} risk of relegation. Why there and not here? #thoughtoftheday

It is easy to see why American businessman are falling over themselves to invest in the PL. If only the MLS ownership cabal would desire similar things for USA soccer over their short-sighted monopoly. @MLS @ProRelForUSA @ReformUSSF #ChampionshipSunday @DrPeteEdwards1

Breaking down #slv with slow individual dribbling demonstrations in the middle of the field…not going to cut it. #USAvSLV
#usmnt Look like a group of players that know they’re man for man better than opponent and so don’t have to move the ball quickly or make hard off the ball runs for each other. Hoping just to out skill the other team with individual brilliance. Frustrating. #USAvSLV
Too many players holding things up with too many touches. Get the ball from out under your feet and get it moving. #USAvSLV
Has Pepi touched the ball this 1st half? #USAvJAM #USMNT
#USSF monopolizes an incredibly lucrative, global sport in this country, yet is asking for donations for player development like they’re Goodwill Industries. Time for change. Actually make it soccer for all. #reformussf #ProRelforUSA #opensoccer @USSF_Athletes

"sporting merit, solidarity, promotion and relegation... are the foundation of the football pyramid that ENSURES FOOTBALL's GLOBAL SUCCESS.", but @ussoccer outlaws sporting merit & #ProRelForUSA and ignores solidarity, ensuring our nation's football failures.

Here in a couple months ~25 or so people will control over 50% of the votes at @ussoccer Too bad nobody within US Soccer cares about how unrepresentative that actually is for a game with millions of players and 10s of thousands of clubs. #ProRelForUSA #ReformUSSF

#USAvMEX #usmnt doesn’t have any confidence on the ball right now and Mexico with all of the on-ball confidence.

It has more of a feel of a podcast you would listen to but I’ll take these three over Lalas, Holden or Twellman repeating SUM/USSF/MLS talking points & talking down to us. #HONvUSA

Football (soccer)clubs fail all over the world. But they fail in the United States FAR MORE REGULARLY than any other place in the so-called developed world. That is the reality of the governing philosophy of US Soccer & the closed, predatory nature of the system they have set up.

The reason is monopoly. In a world where so many signal they both want and fight for "inclusion", and oppose exclusion/discrimination, we must do our part within the domain we work in - the business of soccer. A closed ecosystem is wrong and harmful. xitter.cf/DiCiccoMethod/status/1…

Villarreal reinforces why the US concept of "market size" & closed franchise-based leagues that prevent the upward advancement of those who live in smaller towns is wrong. It's not only anti-meritorious but it's flat out elitist- picking winners and losers based on population.
