New Order’s “Blue Monday” reimagined with 1930s instruments by Orkestra Obsolete. Theremin, musical saw, harmonium ... pure genius. This cover is absolute magic.

I hope @lordcultural are proud of their work on this file. Study-washing the actions of a bad faith government. A smaller facility with a diminished mission in a worse location, robbed of its iconic home, for twice the cost of simply repairing & renewing the institution in situ.
The union for workers who lost their jobs after the Ford government's decision to close the entire science department at the Ontario Science Centre says they are livid about the layoffs “How can you have an Ontario Science Centre with no science unit?” toronto.citynews.ca/2026/09/…

I still think about the guy who pointed out that "the underlying purpose of Al is to allow wealth to access skill while removing from the skilled the ability to access wealth." Rarely have I seen Al described so succinctly.

Thank you Monica. I have always thought MPPs from outside of Toronto are the ones with the best idea of what my neighbours and I need. It is so great that someone so unfamiliar with our city and so unelected by any of us has such a big role in granular municipal decision making.
Gridlock is costing people time and money every single day. We’re getting people moving by restoring traffic lanes on our busiest roads and putting bike lanes where they make sense.

This is what attracts visitors. This is what makes Toronto a better place in which to live and work. This is world class. Protect the islands. Invest in the waterfront. Realize the full potential of the Port Lands. Keep jets out of Billy Bishop.
On a positive Toronto note, I visited Biidaasige Park last weekend, and it’s an absolute home run. Best new park opened in my lifetime. Great river interface. Wetland greenery. Amazing playground. Trails. Bridges. Picnic areas. Quality materials. And a thousand skyline views.

This is 💯 correct. Floating claims of ‘economic growth’ or ‘better connections’ without evidence, and in the absence of details that allow consideration of cost and benefit, is worse than empty consultation - it is deceptive practice, leading respondents to a desired outcome.

There are only two politicians on this planet that will ask a reporter "which outlet are you with" instead of acknowledging the question. This is just embarrassing.
Reporter: We have economists saying that today's numbers are so nominal they could be forecasted away and revised away. So aren't you jumping the gun a little bit calling this a full-blown recession? Pierre Poilievre: Which outlet are you with?

Genuinely don’t think I’m being hyperbolic when I say these people need to be stopped, and fast, or we are headed to a very dark place.

It shouldn’t be possible to lose a court decision and then afterwards change the law to retroactively render your actions legal. It means that in matters of provincial jurisdiction there effectively is no binding law for those that govern us.
NEW: The Ford government has called a late night sitting to pass the budget during legislative off-hours. If it gets 3rd reading tonight, it could be law as early as tomorrow. Rendering the court decision for the Premier to hand over his cellphone records moot. #onpoli

Hard to fathom the bravery it takes to be an emergency services worker rushing to the scene of an Israeli airstrike. Totally unarmed and defenseless, these people rush toward probable death because they feel an obligation to help others. They are the best of humanity.
when rescue workers show up after an airstrike, Israel kills the rescue workers. then when further rescue workers show up to help the surviving rescue workers, Israel kills them too. this country is so morally depraved that one runs out of words to describe it

Israel is wiping out critical bridge after critical bridge in South Lebanon. Civilians can’t flee. Ambulances can’t reach the wounded. Entire communities are cut off from food, medicine, and essential supplies. This is intentional. This is a crime against humanity.

I am a US citizen & Surgeon who took care of the Boston Maraton Bombing victims in 2013. I paid for 7 years to own a small apartment in downtown #Beirut for my 3 kids to enjoy summers there. Today, #Israel reduced my dream home to rubble, with american weapons, paid by my taxes.

It's that magical time of year when private jets descend on a Swiss mountain village to discuss climate change and poverty! Anyway, here's my annual reminder. I'll stop posting this when they stop avoiding the real issue: their own massive tax avoidance 💰

A 57-unit Scarborough apartment had only had two eviction applications in nine years. Then in 2018, Starlight Investments purchased the building and, in just over a year, filed 29 eviction applications — increasing the rate of filings more than 10,000%, a recent study revealed.

The Nobel Peace Prize to be awarded on Oct 10, 2025 should or will be given to the journalists of Gaza - dead and alive - who have sought to tell the world of the atrocities of Israel and Hamas - at the cost of their lives. @NobelPrize
