Agent driven apps, infra as code, and how to dress better all in under 6 minutes.
Thanks @WorkOS for the opportunity to speak. init() was an incredible event.
One neon.ts file declares the functions, buckets, AI gateway, and Postgres behind an AI stylist app. @ant_giuliano from @databricks demoed it live at init(). Full recap: workos.com/blog/init-demo-re…

The Databricks Lakebase team is at PostgreSQL Conference Europe 2026 in Valencia from 20–23 October. Check out our speakers’ session schedules, and stop by booth 7 to meet the team! 🐘
Don’t forget to RSVP this week!
Two talks worth checking out if you’re in Seattle on 10/22 and interested in AI and workflows!
🤖 Kevin Burns will explore when to use LLMs, decision models, or deterministic code in production AI workflows, with examples from Cadence.
📱 Zi Zhu will share how he built OpenOx, an open-source mobile app that creates integrations on the fly and adapts to new services.
Come hang out with the Seattle tech community and learn something new!

This is the launch of the year for me.
The best UX on the web have always been realtime (Notion, Linear, Google Docs) but realtime has never made it into the mainstream.
Today, we're launching Neon Realtime - built by the team behind ElectricSQL.
With a single toggle in the Console, CLI, or MCP, you can enable realtime for your Neon Postgres database. It works with Server-Side Rendering (Next.js, TanStack Start), Drizzle ORM, TanStack DB, and, of course, Postgres.
Why am I so excited for this? Agents, of course. The web has never been more mutliplayer than today.
If you expose an MCP server or run your custom agents in the background making changes on your data, your apps and dashboard should show the agent changes in real time.
This was never easy to build without significantly altering your tech stack.
Adding realtime to your Neon Postgres-based apps is now straightforward, without any massive code migrations.
Keep using Postgres. Keep using Drizzle. Keep using SSR. And with TanStack DB, you won't even need any Neon-specific SDKs (just a tiny adapter).
So stoked for this! ⚡️⚡️
I was lucky enough to attend GHC in college thanks to a grant that covered my trip. At the time, I don’t think I fully realized how much that opportunity would shape my career.
Being surrounded by so many women in tech made a future in this industry feel a lot more possible. It’s sad knowing other women won’t get to have that same experience this year.
If you’re a student or aspiring woman in tech, especially interested in DevRel or Solutions & finding your place in the industry, my DMs are always open. Happy to share what I’ve learned along the way. 💛
For three decades, the Grace Hopper Celebration was a marquee event for women in tech. Now it’s been canceled — the latest sign of how the retreat from diversity initiatives is reshaping the industry bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

As a longtime @neondatabase user, there is one feature that I have always wanted.

Couldn't be a better UX. Pages load fast. Everything's reactive, collaborative, multi-user, multi-device. Reads are instant. Writes are instant. It all just works.

when I see that someone I've never interacted with has blocked me, I have to assume the obvious. it's a sad reality of the world we live in that people are still judged for things entirely outside their control, things they were born with and cannot reasonably be expected to change. I wish we lived in a more accepting society, but unfortunately prejudice runs deep, and sometimes all you can do is acknowledge it and move on.
they simply cannot bear to live in a world where someone can be this hot and handsome and smart. I understand.

📣 The PGConf India 2027 Call for Papers closes this Thursday, 15 October (Anywhere on Earth).
If you've been thinking "I'll submit it this weekend" — the weekend is too late.
A few reasons not to wait until the last hour:
🔹 Your abstract deserves a second draft. The ones that get picked are clear about the problem, what the audience will learn, and why you're the person to tell it. That takes more than one pass.
🔹 A colleague's quick read helps a lot. You can't get that review at 11:58 PM.
🔹 Last-minute rushes go wrong. Especially time zones catch people out.
You don't need to be a core contributor to have a talk worth giving. A production war story, a migration you got through, a performance problem you finally cracked, an extension you built, or what you learned running Postgres at scale — that's exactly what people come to hear.
First-time speaker? Submit anyway. Every speaker on that stage once sent in their first abstract.
