Shift+F is a superfeature. If you know nothing else, you can still run vd and get a lot done. In one keystroke, you get distinct items in a col, sorted by their counts, with their percentage of total, and a histogram. One more keypress (Enter) to filter down to a single element.

This whole thread is spot on. Also it seems obvious that prolific use of AI at scale is going to use even more energy than Bitcoin, and isn't global warming still a thing? How about we get a carbon tax before someone puts AI on a cryptocurrency (this IS how you get skynet)

Why should the AI alignment problem be prioritized when the human alignment problem is still open, with little recent progress? We already have a paperclip maximization machine. We call it capitalism. It causes people to maximize individual wealth at the expense of all else.

I really enjoy #HanukkahOfData. This is a really fun story around data challenges. I'm solving each challenge faster every day as I know the schema better. Thanks @saulfp and Devottys! hanukkah.bluebird.sh/5783/

A modern piano design would need a mouse and an app and a subscription and DLC and ...
Perhaps an arrangement can be made

Spot on! The piano is a beautiful and elegant instrument, but if it were designed today, it would probably require a mouse. Keyboard interfaces aren't discoverable! This needs a chord toolbar and a subscription model. xitter.cf/KCLoadLetter/status/13…
this is when we stop to wonder _why_ so much software is designed for beginners rather than experts ask “why” enough times and you wind up poking at incentive systems would the design of a traditional piano even get funding today?

This is my second commission from @Peach_Cube (the first is my current avatar here, which I also really love). I love so much about this! She nailed the "software" sign and the subtle little animations.

This piece was commissioned by @saulfp for his personal website! A HUGE thank you to him for the support.

Thanks, @awsmfoss! It's much appreciated and we'll put the donation to good use!
Thanks to another donator, we get to support another open source project! Donator didn't specify so we had to pick 😬: 🎉 @VisiData brings the power of excel to the command line (visidata.org).
