A singular biopic that doubles as a tremendous statement of the avant-garde triumphing in face of orthodoxy and its custodians. A benchmark for telling someone's life story in a way that reaffirms the importance of telling that story.

#10YearsOfPune52 thank you for everyone who has over the year given so much love to this picture. For those that haven’t yet seen it, it is streaming on @PrimeVideoIN
Absolutely loved Rk/Rkay, don't miss this film. I enjoyed it more for this rare experience where you are the only one in the entire screen, and that's depressingly ironic.

Around 1930, Mhd Ali Jinnah defended Master Vithal in a legal case against sharda studio for breach of contract. Master Vithal broke the contract because he wanted to work in Ardeshir Irani's Alam Ara. Ugh..in a way Jinnah is responsible for our first talkie ever!

Five weeks before, we did this, my father’s final concert, together in Long Beach California. He had so wanted to play one last show; you can see at the end he knew it was the last. The way he blesses the audiences and shares so much love with us all.
Worth every paisa, aai shappat!
