toxic bitcoin maxis scared off vitalik to go build his own chain and now eth is only 22% the market cap of bitcoin. bitcoin does less and is more valuable because having no features is the feature. Core vs Knots is not a tech problem. it's an economic problem.

the bitcoin standard made me go full send on bitcoin and this is giving me atlas shrugged vibes. pumped for this!!!
My new book, The Gold Standard, will be out on November 14!! You can get your high-quality cloth hardcovers from saifedean.com/ (pre-order available now), or a paperback from Amazon. Audiobooks and ebooks will be available, too! Retweet and follow for a chance to win a free copy! What would the twentieth century have looked like on a gold standard? What would have happened to the state without its money printer? What would have happened to prices, wages, living standards, capital markets, politics, energy production, technology, and education? In The Gold Standard, I answer these questions with a unique alternative history that is one-third history, one-third novel, and one-third economic analysis. In 1911, French aviation pioneer Louis Blériot partners with the Wright brothers to build the Blériot Transport Corporation (BTC), an airplane-based decentralized peer-to-peer gold-settlement network. Dismissed by economists and the press as a doomed eccentricity, BTC alters world history in 1915 when it offers Europeans the chance to escape central bank war inflation by exporting their wealth to neutral countries, triggering a global financial panic that bankrupts the world’s major central banks and destroys their currencies. The World War comes to an abrupt end, and the fiat money experiment is strangled in its crib. A new world order emerges around a free-market decentralized gold standard, and an entirely different twentieth century unfolds. Hard-money savings make capital plentiful and cheap, accelerating technological progress and increasing energy production. The death of central banking and the emergence of a free market in banking force banks to become safer and more responsible. Governments become accountable service providers, while their citizens become customers who expect, and get, better service at a lower cost year after year. Much more unfolds in this gripping, serious, and provocative thought experiment written in Ammous’s trademark engaging style. Pre-order now at saifedean.com/tgs Kindle version available for preorder on Amazon.

bitcoin is supposed to be money. other use cases are spam and dilute its monetary premium. developers should focus on making it good money. this includes fighting spam to preserve blockspace

looks like downloading monthly hashrate average reports for individual rigs is broken. the csv file says “{error:No such user/worker}”. is this a known issue? @ocean_mining @GrassFedBitcoin @LukeDashjr

silver is "more useful" from an industrial standpoint point but it’s valued less than gold. eth is "more useful" because you can do more things with it, but it’s still valued less than bitcoin

if you want bitcoin to become the asset with the highest monetary premium, it needs to be nothing else but money. if it becomes decentralized storage, which core v30 encourages, demand for decentralized storage will decrease the monetary premium as people consume bitcoin for other reasons. this is why i run #knots

Don’t kick your kids out at 18. Charge them $1,200/month in rent payment until they turn 25. Show them how the real world works with budgeting, accountability, responsibility and Independence. But here’s the twist: Save every cent, discreetly, and silently without their knowledge. Then on their 25th birthday, give it all back. As a down payment for their first home, their first business, or their first major investment. They didn’t just receive money. They developed a habit and now they have leverage. That’s how you break poverty cycles and create generational wealth. 💥💯

you think inflation is only 2%? lol
Your favorite all in one inflation index has a price update. Same ribeye at the same store is up 6.2% since June, now $34.49/lb. 19% annualized. Since the prior update in 2024, compound annual inflation is 12.6%. Cumulative 72.5% increase since 2020. Bitcoin is the only way out!

if i am turkish and save in dollars, when does it make sense to take profits and sell my dollars for turkish lira?
Don’t repeat the same mistakes you made last cycle. Take profits. Diversify. Citizenships. Become global.

tx fees won’t filter out non monetary uses. paying a 1 time fee, even if high, for permanent, un-erasable, decentralized data storage is incredibly appealing and has unlimited economic demand
