It saddens me to see Andrew Huberman's Wikipedia page attacked in a politically-motivated way to remove most of his scientific accomplishments and to add misleading statements like: "Huberman appeared on programs that frequently platform health misinformation". This is a dishonest misrepresentation of a legit scientist and one of the best communicators of science in the world. @hubermanlab deserves to be celebrated not slandered. He is a truly special human being, who is doing an invaluable service for the world.

I’ve never observed anyone, regardless of field, achieve lasting prominence while voicing rancor or focusing much on the failings of others. Create and share, support others and enjoy. Givers and creators always prevail.

Healthy relationships don’t feel like “fairy tales.” They’re built through uncomfortable conversations, emotional vulnerability, and grace for each other’s humanness. Healthy relationships take work and a willingness to step outside of our ego.

Some days I wonder if I really *need* my meds. And then I go a few days without them and have 2 meltdowns, walk away from the tea I just heated *3 times*, play video games for days until I manage to wrestle myself into productivity and then drop and shatter my phone.

The effects of THC and other components of cannabis for the developing fetus - especially the brain, are absolutely terrible. People should be aware of that.

Sensory processing issues are super common among ADHDers, and sometimes that means we can be hypersensitive to certain sounds. What's a sound that you can't STAND? I'll start: when dogs lick themselves. 😖

“Focus” is complex but from a neurochemistry perspective it’s like an arrow where acetylcholine is the arrowhead, epinephrine is the arrow shaft & dopamine is a propeller that drives the arrow forward. P.S. Nicotine increases all 3. P.P.S. Don’t smoke or vape.

Speaking clearly & with fluidity is made easier when our arms & hands are free to move. This is because the neural circuits that link sound & control of the muscles for speech also control the hands. Try speaking while holding your hands clenched & completely still. You’ll see.

Research shows that ~90 min is the longest period we can expect to maintain intense focus and effort toward learning. Shorter bouts are fine but after ~90 min, take a break. Space intense learning bouts ~2-3 (or more) hours apart.

PSA People with ADHD can be smart. And do well in school. And be successful. And be organized. And show up on time. And sometimes we're none of those things. But just because we CAN be those things, doesn't mean our ADHD doesn't exist.

All zero cost to do, takes minimal effort and has outsized effects. Also clear is that doing the opposite has numerous detrimental effects on the same systems and hormones, especially in children but also adults.

25+ quality papers & reviews converge on the fact that increasing natural light exposure (especially in first 1-3 hrs of the day) + limiting bright artificial light 10pm-4am can improve mood, offset myopia, improve glucose tolerance, testosterone, estrogen and melatonin profiles.
