Hear us out: The richest person in the world should not be allowed to dump hundreds of millions to affect the midterm elections. This is not a radical idea. We need campaign finance reform. wired.com/story/elon-musk-is…

You are driving a German car to an Italian coffeeshop to drink Brazilian coffee and then going home buying Chinese takeaway to sit on a Swedish sofa in front of a Korean TV to watch U.S. shows and all the while being complain your neighbor is an immigrant. Pull yourself together.

People need to question assumptions- Trump has misspoken about so many things, including how much US paid towards Ukraine (Europe actually paid more), & levels of tariffs between US & others. US abandonment of Ukraine is well articulated by @radeksikorski respected Polish FM
“The USA haven’t spent a single cent on Ukraine since January 2025, so more than 1.5 years. We in Europe are doing it.” MAGA are still moaning and whinging about Ukraine, while their leader enriches himself and drives America into the dirt. Trump first. 🤦‍♂️

If you haven't noticed yet, Europe is at war. And nobody is coming to save us. 🔹️18 September: Macron summons every French party leader to the underground crisis room beneath the Élysée, alongside the heads of all intelligence services. Highly unusual. Raphael Glucksmann (@rglucks1) walks out saying they were told France is in "a situation of hybrid war." The words "state terrorism" were used. Even Jordan Bardella (@J_Bardella), whose party is often accused of being soft on Moscow, warned the next day that Russia cannot dictate France's policy "through intimidation, threats, destabilisation or psychological pressure." 🔹️17 October: on the same day, riots break out in 🇫🇷 France, 🇮🇹 Italy and 🇧🇪 Belgium. Town halls on fire, shops looted, street battles with police. The anger behind the protests is real: prices, schools, public services. But the moment the violence starts, the propaganda machine switches on: pro-Kremlin networks and MAGA influencers flood our feeds with images and stories designed to spread fear and turn us against each other. Weeks earlier, @lemondefr had found a dozen accounts pushing the 17 October date. All created or renamed on the same day. Now zoom out - in recent months, almost every day, Europe has been hit by: → explosive drones at airports → fires and blasts at arms factories → cyberattacks on governments → disinformation on an industrial scale France isn't the only one sounding the alarm: 🇩🇪🇵🇱🇩🇰🇬🇧🇪🇪🇱🇹🇱🇻🇸🇪🇨🇿🇫🇮🇳🇴, in recent months, one after another, their governments and intelligence services have warned about Russia escalating its attacks on Europe. Drones and sabotage are only half of this war. The other half targets our minds, and our ballot boxes. 🇫🇷 France and 🇮🇹 Italy vote in 2027. What happens there will shape the future of all of Europe. Those who want Europe weak, divided and unable to act alone have everything to gain from the fear and division being planted in our societies. If France and Italy sink into chaos and break from European unity, every European will be less safe, and more alone against predatory powers. Expect more shocks in the years ahead. Some organised, some facilitated, many simply amplified. All exploited by those who want Europe on its knees. But none of this works if we stand together. Their whole strategy depends on us being afraid and divided. So let's be neither. Protect our democracies. Stand with Ukraine. Build a Europe that can defend itself. Fight back at their attacks. This is a dark hour for Europe. It can also be the hour we gain our independence.

In 2016 the Conservative Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said, "The only country that would like us to leave the EU is Russia" In 2026 the former Head of MI6 Sir John Sawers said, "Russia was very keen that the Leave campaign should succeed and that Britain should leave the European Union. Because that would marginalise Britain as a global player and weaken Europe in general" "That's the strategic opportunity the Russians spotted, and the leaders of the Leave campaign fell into it" My view: The warning was there before the referendum: Moscow had a clear interest in Britain breaking with Europe. A decade later, a former head of MI6 has explained why — a divided Europe and a Britain pushed to the margins would serve Russia’s strategic interests. It does show that the Kremlin saw Brexit as an opportunity to weaken both Britain and the European Union, and was keen for Leave to win. The damage was predictable: less British influence in Europe, more friction between allies and a weaker collective response to Russian aggression. Brexit handed Moscow the kind of division it wanted. The leaders of Leave may have believed they were restoring Britain’s power. In reality, they pursued a course that played directly into Russia’s hands, and the country is still living with the consequences: weaker, worse off, with escalated societal tensions.

US has not spent $350B on Ukraine. It has spent $132B, $33B of that is money. The rest is $21B in loans, repaid from frozen Russian assets, $4B in humanitarian aid, and the vast majority, $74B is military equipment. Half that equipment is new, made in the US. The other half is old stockpile equipment, which soon would have had to be demilitarized at great cost. The replacement equipment is made in the US, so the money stays in the US.
Meanwhile, the EU and European countries have spent a combined $271B, more than twice as much as the US.

President @ZelenskyyUa was greeted by an honour guard outside the British Prime Minister’s residence - reportedly a historic first, as no foreign leader has ever received such honours at Downing Street before. @andyburnham is seemingly sending a clear message about how highly the UK values Zelenskyy as an ally. Thank you, UK, for standing with Ukraine, for your unwavering support, and for treating our President with such dignity and respect 🇺🇦♥️🇬🇧

Kasparov: Putin has about three months to make NATO's Article 5 fail. A small incursion into Estonia or Latvia plus drone attacks could end the alliance. Putin's real target is the elections in France, Spain, Italy and Germany. 1/

In 2016, Brexiteers & Trumpists shared tactics. 1) Use social media to bypass critical media 2) Rouse anger at immigration 3) Use provocative misleading statements to create outrage Today, people want solutions-not more tricks to manipulate their anger parliament.uk/globalassets/d…
Polite reminder. Trump & Brexit are not 2 different things. They are the same thing. Same companies. Same data. Same Facebook. Same Russians. Same Cambridge Analytica. Same Robert Mercer. Same Steve Bannon. Same Breitbart. Same Alexander Nix. Same Donald Trump. Same Nigel Farage.

Puff. Pensate sia un caso? No, per niente. La Russia investe 2 miliardi di dollari ogni anno sulla disinformazione, le chat-bot farm e altri strumenti di guerra ibrida. E noi? Quanto tempo dovrà ancora passare prima di capire che bisogna imparare a difendersi, partendo dall’adottare uno «scudo democratico» contro le ingerenze straniere?

Finally...Many of us have long advocated for this to be raised up the agenda so people know they're being manipulated- Russian interference, combining with domestic disrupters , to influence our election outcomes and political debate in negative ways. DCSM investigation agreed.
Andy Burnham becomes first PM to confirm Russian interference in Brexit referendum @campbellclaret and @RoryStewartUK's exclusive interview with @andyburnham on tomorrow's episode of Leading is out in full at midnight.

I’ve already agreed to be an original cosponsor. Congress must make a stand.
We will be introducing bipartisan legislation to block any and all purchases of Russian oil. It will be called the “Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act.” It will be forced to the Floor via discharge and it will pass overwhelmingly. #PeaceThroughStrength

Trump: "The United States of America, represented by me as your president, should have received the Nobel Peace Prize, but didn't. This is an indelible stain on the country of Norway. We will not forget, Norway." (note how tepid the crowd response is to this whining)

Trump: I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia, wherein it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 Tons of Diesel Fuel to the American and Global Marketplace
