ALT The Open Targets framework for building therapeutic hypotheses is composed of three overarching concepts: causal and supporting evidence, precision and context, and hypothesis progressability. The steps of the framework include: target identification, target prioritisation — this includes considerations on tractability, doability, safety, and some additional considerations — and therapeutic hypothesis generation. This figure provides some examples of the types of questions Open Targets tries to address in order to help build therapeutic hypotheses.
