There is evidence that the Democratic Party had no open antisemitism until 2018 when Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar arrived in Congress.
The far right had people like Tucker Carson, Kanye West, and Nick Fuentes.
Democrats repeatedly called them out, but we lost any moral compass on the issue because Tlaib and Omar.
Dem leadership tried talking to them, but Omar would do those fake ass apologies and pretend she didn’t know it was antisemitic.
Now 8 years later, antisemitism is running untamed through DSA and leftists. Jewish people are being attacked and stabbed walking down the street. Synagogues and Churches are burning. An Islamic extremist ran his truck through a synagogue with 140 children inside and Abdul’s response was “hurt people hurt people.”
Now he wants to represent Jewish Americans. Now yall are pissed some Jewish voters won’t vote for him.
And yall have the AUDACITY to complain about “Islamophobia.” Haaaa! GTFOH! Hypocrites!!!!

What’s so ridiculous is that AES has been subjected to viciously Islamophobic attacks from the GOP, including from their Michigan candidate, and Stevens is on CNN demanding AES denounce “antisemitic hate” (which he has done repeatedly).
How is this not the normalization of Islamophobia from centrist pro-Israel Democrats like Stevens.

If @AbdulElSayed truly means what he says about treating the Jewish community as he would treat his own children, then he would immediately condemn this dangerous ad as outrageously antisemitic and demand that it be taken down.
If not, then he’s full of shit.
New low for normalized Jew-hate in the American Democratic Party. Very sad:
Painting your political opponents as puppets of Jews, as this El-Sayed ad does, and as crazed baby-killers and money-grubbing villains who are the root cause of every bad thing not just in the world, but in your life—from wars to the price of eggs to the reason you can’t have free healthcare—is not just low-grade Jew-hate. It’s pure Third Reich stuff, translated directly from the original German.
Do you remember when Jewish Democrats in Michigan explained that they would vote for El-Sayed despite his open disdain for Jews, since there are many other important issues they need him to fight for? That anything was worth it to “defeat MAGA”?
Well, here’s El-Sayed’s answer to them: Don’t worry, all those issues we agree on, like healthcare, inflation, and climate change, I’m going to make them about Jews too! I will tell the public that the Jews are the reason they can’t have those things.

I'm glad the United States has founding fathers/War heroes that while praised in their contributions to nation building are heavily scrutinized for the roles they played in causing Unjustifiable evil regardless of the context they lived in.
There are no irreprochable paragons.

I have chinese friends who believe if an American speaks on an issue that is against the current government policy then theyll be censored, like in China.
I explain private platforms vs state interference...then the propaganda kicks in.

There is a two step process to winning every argument: 1) be right, 2) know why you're right. Everything beyond that is an exercise in sophistry and intellectual dishonesty.

Part of the Democratic Party’s credibility problem is that too many politicians and pundits are asking voters to follow their lead on candidates who could literally be the difference between democracy and authoritarianism. Yet many of those same voices went all in for a guy with a Totenkopf and a long history of questionable behavior, and never fully apologized for it.
In a Trumpian move, they offered little accountability or self-reflection. They just stopped talking about it. And now they’re surprised people aren’t taking their opinions seriously.

Leftists, including Jewish leftists like Sami, will suddenly sound like right wing race realists when the topic is Israelis.
Their desire to see Israel destroyed is so foundational to how they think that that the double standards and cruelty follow naturally.

The Civil Rights Act had a 59% approval rating. I know it's fun to pretend that the correct stance was always unpopular so you can pretend your enemies will be the bad guys of future period pieces but the majority of the country was actually convinced on this.
“The Matthew Yglesias of 1963 would have been telling [JFK and LBJ] don’t touch this civil rights bill. It’s unpopular.”
I thought this was one of the more fascinating and important exchanges with @mattyglesias, where I challenged him on how far politicians should defer to polls on huge moral issues, and he pushed back on my analogy.

Mehdi conflates bill approval with protest approval. "This civil rights bill" was popular in '63. It had +16 approval (54-38) by Aug. '63 & +30 (61-31) in Jan. '64 before its June passage. Desegregation was generally popular w/ >+30 support for SCOTUS anti-segregation rulings

You went from mildly interesting to mystic and fanatic, which is just very mundane. You are deluded in your self perception, a common trait in all those that suffer from HDS.
