This is the future of American soccer culture.
MLS has catered to the 'supporters groups' of their clubs for far too long. These groups often bring in political views, entitlement, and are larping as European fans.
Now, layer in some sort of meaningful competition stakes + sporting integrity, and MLS might have something to work with.
I'm seeing USL make the same mistakes of getting in bed with these supporters groups, too.

It wasn't for most, but for us, it was extremely obvious that street soccer culture would dominate soccer marketing narratives for the 2026 World Cup. We're seeing this already with Nike TOMA, Adidas Backyard Legends, etc.
Looking back, we may have been too early.
The amount of times brands asked us "but, could we just do something together on grass?"
@FOXSports is paying someone to sit in a box in Times Square this summer and watch every World Cup game.

The best World Cup memories I have (outside of watching matches) are the in-between moments:
- Opening Panini player card packs
- Quizzing each other on WC history
- Wearing my country's colors
- Following the stats and daily matchups
- Choosing a backup team to support
All of the good stuff.
