When Haiti became independent in 1804, the United States placed an embargo on Haiti. In 1915, the United States invaded Haiti and began a military occupation which lasted until 1934. In 1957, the US kidnapped President Daniel Fignolé and cleared the way for decades of a Duvalier dictatorship which was supported by America. Contrary to Megyn Kelly thinks, the problem is not that Haitians lack work ethic. The problem is that America refuses to leave Haiti alone.
