We are saddened to hear of the passing of artist Pope.L An agitator and humorist, Pope.L used his body to examine division and inequality “to reinvent what’s beneath us, to remind us where we all come from.” Farewell to the “fisherman of social absurdity.”

This is inhumane cruelty. There are no other words for it. I repeat my call for the ICC to be able to investigate potential war crimes by all parties and hold those who have been found guilty to account. A long-lasting, permanent ceasefire is needed and needed now.

I've added my name to @theSNP King's Speech amendment, echoing countless messages from constituents in Edinburgh North & Leith calling for an immediate ceasefire. We back the UN & international aid orgs demanding an end to the loss of innocent children, women & men. #CeasefireNow
Motion reads At end add ‘but respectfully regret that the Gracious Speech fails to include measures that would require the Government to uphold international law and protect all civilians in Israel and Palestine; unequivocally condemn the horrific killings by Hamas and the taking of hostages; reaffirm that there must be an end to the collective punishment of the Palestinian people; call for the urgent release of all hostages and an end to the siege of Gaza to allow vital supplies of food, fuel, medicine and water to reach the civilian population; note the growing calls for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire from the United Nations and its aid agencies; and therefore call on the Government to join with the international community in urgently pressing all parties to agree to an immediate ceasefire.’
