Weird to see @Audacy launch an “original” podcast called “Family Lore,” which has a strikingly similar description to my show “Family Ghosts,” which premiered back in 2017. I would never claim to have invented family storytelling, but…this feels uncool, guys.

Can we stop with the posts about how #NotebookLM makes “podcasts?” It doesn’t. It makes a weird simulacrum of disembodied voices with no personality or point of view mimicking the rhythms of human speech. If that’s all you think a podcast is, you’ve never listened to a good one.

I remember listening to an Orioles game on the radio before dinner in 1993 - I was about 9 years old… I heard Fred Manfra say in his baritone voice “the Orioles have been mathematically eliminated.” Embarrassingly I started crying at the dinner table.
30+ years later the perspective is entirely different. But the ending hurts. It always hurts. It’s supposed to hurt. That’s what fandom is… that’s the beauty of it. I think of the other great line in “A League of their Own”
