When simulation becomes the norm, it weakens the human capacity for discernment. As a result, our social bonds close in upon themselves, forming self-referential circuits that no longer expose us to reality. We thus come to live within bubbles, impermeable to one another. Feeling threatened by anyone who is different, we grow unaccustomed to encounter and dialogue. In this way, polarization, conflict, fear and violence spread. What is at stake is not merely the risk of error, but a transformation in our very relationship with truth.

Update from the Killing Fields of Sudan: Maternity hospital massacre leaves 460 dead as patients and staff are butchered; 2,000 civilians were executed in two days. UN resolutions: zero. Protesters in London: couple of dozen. Coverage of Sudan carnage in media: minimal.
The ignored and brutal civil war in Sudan, which has already claimed 150,00 lives and displaced millions, has now taken an even more terrible turn in El Fashir, under siege and suffering famine. RSF rebels have captured the city, triggering the panicked flight of its remaining starving civilians. The victorious militias, which are predominantly ethnically Arab, have gone on a barbaric killing rampage of the local non-Arab population. The violence echoes the genocidal slaughters carried out by the Janjaweed militia — the RSF’s predecessor — in Darfur two decades ago.

Downham St Leonard would hold its own on a ‘nicest view on the way out of church’ award. Nice place to preside!

Great week at #KESCON25 enjoying all the convention (and town) faithfully offers - and here we are on the lawn outside the old St John’s vicarage where it all started 150 years ago. @KeswickMin thanks for all you do as volunteers and staff.

From what I can see @AeroIquitos is living in 2035! “Sir would you like ham, cheese or chicken in your sandwich? Or why not all three!!!” Sometimes you just come across something and realise everyone else has got it so wrong.

Not such a fan of the cold red wine in a chilled glass but tbf it is hotter than the Dunkenhalgh sauna in Iquitos today.

Most guide books & websites say “there’s not much to do in Lima itself” but we have not found that at all! An amazing & packed 3 days & could easily fill another 3. Buzzy, vibrant city - stunning coastline, cultural experiences everywhere, lovely people. 100% would recommend.

The President and Vice-President of America behaved appallingly today. Utterly disgraceful words and tone. I hope this marks a change in how the international community deal with this administration, particularly the UK.

I think a great twist for next year would be to keep the identity of one Traitor completely secret from the audience at home. I think this could be achieved through clever editing 🔥 #TheTraitors #TheTraitorsUK

I really enjoyed planning this carol service then leading it on behalf of the Princess of Wales - slightly gutted the only clip they used of me was during the 30seconds I wore a Santa hat and beard 🙄😂
The Together at Christmas Carol Service at Westminster Abbey last night wasn't the only one taking place... At the iconic Blackpool Tower the latest of our fifteen Community Carol Services celebrated even more people who have displayed love, empathy and support to those around them.
