Wonderful choice. @JohnTory should listen to Cathy Crowe LL.D. & drop the tiny shelter lawsuit: "Given the choice of a dormitory room in a shelter where a COVID variant is aggressively stalking its victims or...a tiny shelter with a lock on the door I know what I would choose."
So pleased that @LawSocietyLSO is conferring an honorary LL.D. today on @cathyacrowe. A lifelong homelessness activist who has affected so much change. Moved by her words about how the legal and political struggle continues, especially in the pandemic.

It's happened...#COVID19 Variants of Concern are now in Toronto's shelter system. The best way to judge a society is by how it treats its' most vulnerable. We must prioritize vaccination for people experiencing homelessness. Now.

R v Le is a refreshing look at the role race plays in police interactions. A must read. A pleasure to have worked on this case with such a talented team! Thank you (and congratulations!) to @emlaminator and @samarabrooke for leading the way.
Huge victory for @emlaminator and @samarabrooke in R v Le @SCC_eng - and important judgment on s. 9 of the Charter scc-csc.lexum.com/scc-csc/sc…

#SCC Le win is remarkable. But, note, the interveners were the strongest advocates for change. THEY brought social context to the forefront. THEY pushed the law to evolve. THEY brought the court where it needed to be.
